To be honest I don't really see this that often.
In my opinion I think the people who do leave and come back a day later but make a goodbye thread might be sore from MCGamer, I'm sure we have had all those moments that we say: "I'M DONE, I QUIT MC." But don't let that make you say: "Ok, all hope is lost." People should be able to get up again, and instead of writing a goodbye thread for nothing.
As for people wanting to get attention, just ignore them
