still though, they didn't start when MCSG was made.
so of course they're not getting as many forum members.
at the moment, they only have 6,776, but still, look at the leaderboards, go to the back. Some people just joined on the forums, and joined 1 game, died off the start, and quit. So there might only be 50,000 something active players on MCSG. Also, playercount doesn't really matter. Let's say a server opens with servers like MCSG, but they're extremely laggy. They're popular, but that's not better.
What I'm saying is MCSG has an amazing player-base but a lot of people have been getting lag problems with it, so y'know.
The ratio of players -> active players and hackers -> players and bugs -> great gameplay will be the same as the Hive. The Hive is yet to experience it though because of the small growing player base. The player count does matter, it just shouldn't be used to achieve
exact statistics. A more better way to calculate and compare it is
unique Minecraft account logins, whereas we've over hundreds of thousands, I think maybe close to million and the Hive will have around 10 or so thousand so far, although that is quite a good statistic either way. The lag MCSG experiences has actually got nothing to do with its plugin, maps nor even host, maybe slightly but the main reason is Minecraft's poor netcode and regions. The Hive will have it's problems, when it has a lot more players and servers. MCSG is not going downhill. Infact Chad released some statistics showing that our
active player base has actually grown through both the Bajan and Hive incidents and barely dropped. People love to exaggerate, you can't name a single large multi-player game or server within a game that doesn't have complaints.
A famous Minecraft server - MCPVP, has lots of active players, people love the server, but a few months back people started to quit and complain about lag, lag, lag. The reason why there isn't much complaints on the Hive is that there is a smaller player base, less people to notice it so the less of a priority it will become to staff. There isn't a
single Minecraft server community that has
0 complaints nor
no lag. Back on the subject of MCSG we are an amazing server, the Hive is an amazing server, I could go through many servers but it's an amazing accomplishment to even reach 1,000 let alone 10,000 or 100,000+ unique players on a server. People need to look at the good side of things, and stop exaggerating the problems and what isn't what
they consider
good.
