I'm Reading: Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand and it's a truly touching book. Thinking about what humans are capable of when attempting to be dehumanized, to be turned to a skeleton and a dusty brain. Ironic how in a vain attempt to break the prisoners, they made them stronger. (I guess Kelly Clarkson was right.)
Now every time someone complains, I shove that book in their face and say, "Were you stuck on a raft with 2 friends and no supplies for 47 days, then interned at 4 different Tokyo POW camps for 2 years with one of the most notorious prison commanders who was later charged with War Crimes? No? Though so.
(10-24-14)- All done Unbroken! 8.5/10
EDIT (10-14-14) Writing a book as part of the NanoWrimo competition! 30,000 words in 30 days, wish me luck!
(All I'm saying for now is that it's set in WWII era and includes the Soviets, a lot. Stay tuned for updates!)
