Our Minecraft servers are offline but we will keep this forum online for any community communication. Site permissions for posting could change at a later date but will remain online.
I couldn't agree more, my favorite cow. The people who consider themselves good will say l2p after every kill. I was killed by a guy with 171 wins who thought he was all that, and after I died he said "gg, l2p", even though he had a diamond sword and full iron while I have 6.5 armor bars and a wood sword. Then his friends say "You suck kid, quit this game, go kill urself ur so bad". And then I tell the obnoxious brats to stop or they will be reported for abuse, they all said, "We aren't abusing you dumb f**k we are just pointing out you suck ass at this game live with it." Then I kill a dude with 1k+ wins feeling proud, and when I win in the lobby he says "Bro you must live next to the servers cuz you abuse that zero ping man you're so bad (ALTHOUGH you can't abuse ping and I get 95+ ping) and you have some nice macros on that no skill account of yours" So I just sit here thinking why am I acting so proud that I killed an asshole who rained on my parade. Chad won't end it, the community's obnoxiousness and immaturity will. Please note that this is a recreation of the post that I wrote earlier, which was significantly longer and more detailed. I experienced an annoying forum glitch, which prevented me from posting this, and then I accidentally copied and pasted something else without thinking about it >_> So I lost the original post.
How will MCGamer die?
Hmm.
That's a question that was tossed around in the past, but generally there were only answers like "When Chad decides to end it" etc.
But I feel like the real question here is, how will the community die?
In my eyes, it's on a path to suicide.
In-Game, it's a lot worse than it was. Yes, it might be better than many other online communities right now, but look at the transition that it's made in the past year. There's so many openly rude, disrespectful, and arrogant players. It's not just the people who are saying things like "l2p l2p l2p rekt m8 get good", it's also the general attitude that people take on the game.
To those of you who say, "It's just a game, no need to get mad," I strongly disagree with the message that you're sending. The game itself isn't what makes people get mad. It's the people playing the game. The people in real life who are typing those messages, downloading hacks, and making the atmosphere a terrible place. THIS IS REAL.
Hackers are constantly being reported and banned, but there are always more to replace them. In the past, there was maybe one hacker every few games. Nowadays, however, there are multiple each game. Playing on Minecraft has become a chore, and winning is becoming less part skill, and more parts "how well can you make macros in Razer Synapse" and "how low is your ping".
If you got moderator for the glory you'll fall through soon enough, usually those people don't have the dedication to stay and do their job for long.Pro idea: Silent Servers.
No talking. Yep. Done.
I agree, some newer moderators get it for the rank and glory NOT to help. I wont name names, but you know who you are. Please, if you are one of those and are reading this re-think what you are doing. Me, along with many others aren't getting fooled.
After that there is the ingame community, which is a whole problem on its own.
Someone is doing the "count down" (3, 2, 1) so I gotta go. See you!
I'm not saying you can do this yourself, but I'm an old v1 player and I still enjoy the game. Sure the community is more disrespectful, and sure there are more hackers and teams, but complaining about it won't do anything. I don't think anyone will read this thread and stop calling people eZ and such, or stop hacking when they see it. The only way you can really enjoy the game at this point is to adapt to it. Learn how to handle with big clans, learn how to kill hackers. If you do all that, and maybe even play with the chat off, you'll have fun.It is really sad to see the turn MCSG has taken for the worst... I have been here since late 2012 and I will confirm for everyone yelling at "not v1 players" that the servers WERE better. There were times where you could go 3 games in a row without 5 members from a clan chasing you off spawn and typing "gg rekt skrub". The hackers.... Oh the hackers, this problem has gotten out of hand maybe the most of all. There will always be people who say "oh, just report and they will get banned." Yes, I agree with that statement moderators and such make, but there comes a time when you report multiple players EVERY game, and it ruins your expierience.
The main reason I left this game is because I couldn't handle all the crap baggage that would come from playing. First, you probably have to kill 2/3 teams a game, and every other game, a blatant hacker. Once I left clans, it became a crapfest. It is really hard to play solo anymore, and that was one of the most fum parts of this, the reward you get for taking out that huge team, and winning a 1 on 2 in DM. That is gone, along with alot of the respectable players that were part of this community. The forums have died out. I am by no means saying that I don't respect anyone left on the forums, there are plenty of non-toxic, really kind people still here.
The real problem is, the new players. Nothing against you new guys, but alot of you like to be too cocky for your own good. This mindset that works like this- If he is better than me = hacker, if he is worse than me = noob. This is what kills communties, when servers go too far from the core that made them so great before. I am not protesting MCSG adding things to servers, you have to if you want to survive. All I am saying is that I see so many great sevrers go down the same road of inevitable doom.
Our community has turned to be very competitive and that is a good and bad things depending on your definition of "toxic". We ran some statistics to calculate a bounce rate for new players (meaning players that return after they logged in for the first time) and you would be surprised that we still get between 55-65% of people staying. Even being 2 years old with focusing on one major gametype is still amazing statistically wise. Imagine how our AVN merger and V2 Core will change this doubling our game amount overnight? We might have new players join everyday but how many of them are turned away by the fact they cannot play a nice game.
Nope. People may be getting bored with Survival Game gameplay as it has been out for years. However, your missing the point that our community is growing with new games and also inheriting about 5 more with AVN. I am sure you never had checked out yourself and can be fun for you as well. If people get bored, we release new maps, add new features, and invent new community sponsored events to spice up your experience. Results may very, but we are indeed working hard making it fun for everyone.People are getting bored and sadly there is not much you can do to improve this.
I am going to say, we do have an issue with this just like every other minecraft community. You will be shocked as it's not always greener on the other side. The only way we can tell you right now on how we are fixing it is my making more backend changes. In V2, we will be making more auto-detections for known hacked clients and will be doing bigger crackdowns trying to put a dent in it. We ban over 1,000+ hackers a day and will continue to do more. If you see hackers, PLEASE report them to remove them: http://report.mcgamer.info . We will soon have in-game reporting system to make it even easier to report the rule breaking users. There is an epidemic of hackers.
So with over 100,000+ people a day and we are not classified as a community? Your friends may be gone or moved on, but hundred of thousands of others still consider this a community as it will always be one. Even 5 years from now if we only have like 100 people online (I hope we still remain big, just an example) it's still a community. My only solution to you personally is maybe start making new friends here?Overall there is just no community anymore....The player base will probably keep increasing, but what I mean by mcsg dying is that the community is dying and what's a server without a community.
That is honestly true almost anywhere you go on forums. Even the tech forums I visit is full of people trying to troubleshoot something or complain that something doesn't work as advertised. Our website has been used more as a tool lately to express opinions, feature requests, and clan applications rather than small talk about their school days or personal lives. If you want to help change that, start a fun thread! You have the power to do that, so why complain about it?There is not much quality posts anymore, just complaints. Complaints after complaints.
Let's be frank here, it's cool to be a staff in just about any game you go on just by having that privilege. However, if the mods themselves get hired as staff and don't do anything to help us, we remove them from their rank. All active staff members we require this activity that helps this place and you should know that based on your history being EX staff.Staff members get mod now for the rank and popularity status, not to help the community.
With all of the exciting things to see in the future, how can you say "it's done" and end on that note? We have the AVN merger, new 1.8 features, friend lists, party system, new leaderboards, more mini games, new cartoons, new website, and more livestreams with VIPs and me! Seems like the complete opposite than what you are saying overall. Maybe dead to you however not the hundreds of thousands in the community currently. Being one of the top networks in the world, you really need to give us more credit that we deserve for the accomplishments we have done in the past. /2centsI guess the community was good while it lasted
and this my friends, is why ChadtheDJ is forums king, and always will be.I am going to respond to you by basing my statements with factual data (stats and calculations that I have access to):
Overall has the community dying based on our current health?: No. With all gaming communities, people come and go all the time. Maybe to you but you are missing the point that we constantly have a very steady stream of players in the thousands daily discover us! Sure they are new, but doesn't mean you can make new friends and get to know them. That is what a community is all about!
