I think maybe a good one would be acid rain, although I think it might already be used. Also, maybe wither skeletons or blazes, or silverfish, that spawn? I am really excited to try out Quarter Quell!

Spider jockeys and cave spiders are good, but maybe too op? And how about, like in Mineplex (snow), certain blocks hurt you if you touch them , so maybe something common but not too common, otherwise the game would go fast :p and for different maps it could be different blocks that hurt you depending on the amount of types of blocks per map. (Are there different maps with quarter quell lol) Just an idea, but I think it would be cool.

I think that a really good idea for a disaster would be for any tribute in the water near corn or close to the water, on the beach near corn, or even on the tracks of land that lead to and spread away from corn, would have lighting strike the water and any tribute in the water would have a healthy amount of hearts taken away and any tribute near the shore would also take a decent chunk of health. This would kind of represent the plan that Katniss and her allies had toward the end of the movie.

I thought this was kind of an interesting idea.

My Ideas ^^
Electrocution if your in contact with water.
Gravel trap/sand
Massive holes appearing randomly whilst you dodge ghast fireball thingys
Walls moving together to crush youuuu
TNT falling behind where you walk and BOOM
Falling sand ABOVE you so you have to find gaps ^^


Post more ideas later ^^

1-I think you can use leather armored zombies whose head is monkey-mutt (skin)
2-You can make a special texture pack for Mockingjays' sounds and bodies, forcefields, weapons etc.
3-Forcefields throw you away and make you lose hp (what a bad english)
4-Bugs makes you poisoned and give less damage (poison is the dangerous part)
5-Giant should spawn in a random place, ( in forest etc, maybe next to nearest player... ) and give more damage, and walk faster.
6-You should remove the grace period, because it makes cornucopia fights boring...
7-In my opinion, You should rebuild paths with sand, or clay etc.
8-In my opinion, cornucopia is TOO BAD! I think you should do the horn ( I dont know english name, I mean the golden tent-thing. I say it HORN )
9-With the Texture Pack, you can make rain like blood. And it makes you slow, maybe poison...
10-Of course, spinning corn! >:D
11-Animals that you can hunt
12-Water problem like MineZ maybe...
13-(This suggestion is crazy, but I think it sounds good) In tier 2 chests, there would be a string called "cable" If you walk to the lightning tree and put the string on a hopper-thing, waters at corn becomes dangerous with electricity! Like Beetee's cable (As I said, maybe it wont be that effective, so if you dont like this idea, pass it)

I hope this isn't already implemented or stated, but I think it would be really cool if in a segment the area becomes "cold", where tributes would start shaking and stuff. I'm not very wise in the ways of effects, so I was thinking like a posion affect combined with sligh nausea, but I think having a whole area thats freezing would be an interesting spin.

Another idea would be a durability sapping storm, where tools and armor gradually lose durability.

Those are my two suggestions, and I haven't read any other suggestions except for a few on the first page, so if there are any repeats then i'm sorry.

EDIT: To expand on the first idea, perhaps a custom server resource pack for quater quell could be used, like playmindcrack, where there could be freezing winds sounds that play during this segment. Furthermore, there would be snow falling and a slowness effect.

Anvil rain,that would be cool,you would be running all over the place not knowing when you'll get smashed by an falling anvil,sorry if anyone took it earlier,don't have the time to read through all of this :(

I would like to share my disasters. Well, skeletons raining from the sky and launching arrows at anything in sight would make the game interesting as well as you being blinded for a couple of seconds, That would be my first idea. Then for a second one maybe everyone is poisoned for a limited time with a 45 second (or less,) interval between each poisoning with the skeletons raining down. Too Extreme? Or just skeletons raining down with bows shooting everything in sight. Or just everyone being poisoned, and blinded, for a limited amount of time with 45 second, (less or more,) intervals.

My ideas.

-Where ever you walk, fire will spawn behind you (or if you stay still, it lights under you)
-(I dont know of this is possible) If possible make it so in one section all food will give you food poison
-Fire balls. Random fireballs will come at you from no where.
-Acid Rain. Its raining, and its acid rain. (simple enough)
-Opposite to above, Fire spawns INFRONT of you, so you have to constantly strafe
-Poison plants. (could need editing to map) in this section there is a limited amount of vines/grass/ferns but the ones you DO step through are poisonous, they either give you poison (3 seconds) or half a heart of damage.
-Slippery. All blocks turn into blocks as slippery as ice (hard)
-Blind! Instead of using the blindness effect, use beacon strips as it makes everything white
-YNK (you never know) every game is different. Sometimes it could be Poison Plants, sometimes it could be acid rain. (I dont know if its possible)
I will add more as they come to me :D

Hey you could do something like slowness or speed potions for some time. With speed or slowness it would be harder to play and PvP.

or make fire arrows rain from the sky which disappear when it hits the ground to prevent lag and the only way to escape from these arrows is to hide under a tree :D.
