While I was at it, I changed my render distance to 1. I get 30-60 frames now in the hub:p

My god... People don't know about computers sometimes...
Think of it like this:

If you have a 60ghz display, the most fps you'll see is 60. No more. Anything more is just a number on a screen. So there will be NO noticeable difference between 60-162791

If you have a 120ghz display, the most fps you'll see is 120. No more. Anything more is just a number on a screen. So there will be no noticeable difference between 120-162791

So, what yin is saying is essentially doing nothing, it's all in your mind. Putting the frames to the max it'll let you go in normal minecraft is doing the same thing. It's just not letting there be a cap on the fps of minecraft.
But there's also micro-stuttering, which is basically a drop in FPS that your computer won't pick up - but you will. Having a consistently higher FPS means that there will be less drastic micro-stutters.

lol 40+ isnt much
It is when you don't get 100+ consistently. If you go from 60 to 100, that's a huge difference because of various factors, such as your FPS randomly dropping.

I'm not talking about micro stuttering, I'm simply saying that putting max fps at 120 will be the same as 1000000 depending on the ghz of your display.

You're right in a way that there's not really a difference in 60 fps and 70fps using a 60hz monitor, but if someone gets ~20 fps normally and now gets ~40 fps on a 60hz monitor, it can really help. (I haven't actually tried this as I don't need it, but I can see how it might help)
