A tip on decent FPS

1) Make sure Minecraft is closed
2) Open up %appdata% and search for .minecraft
3) Find a text document labeled "options", open it
4) The 12th option should be labled maxfps. Set it up to an extremely high number (I set mine to 10,000)
5) At the top of the document, hit the file button, and click save
6) Open minecraft and enjoy

I personally got a 40+ Frames Per Second average boost from this. Don't know if it's just a lucky day, or this. Give it a try!

There is, but going into the option document you can make it higher, as it normally sets it to 260 when I first opened it.

No, I just forgot about the options document, and used it as a reminder

VSync wasn't on. I may have gotten a slight increase, but nothing substantial. I think Yin just got lucky with that 40 FPS, I do sometimes get higher FPS on maps like Breeze Island.
