As a regular MCSG user who is genuinely respectful to higher power, in such a world, this incident that occurred was a rather irritating offense taken. Today on January 4th, Sunday at around 7:30 AM I was ridiculed repeatedly for jokingly unaware of breaking a rule that is somehow deemed as a horrible thing. When someone asked, "Is a Mod on?" I, being the funny unintentional person that I am answered back, "I'm a mod, what seems to be the problem, sir?" Now, clearly I am just a regular player with a personal score like everyone else so I kind of assumed people would realize and just brush it off (the player who asked did however). After several ish minutes an in game VIP decided to ask, "Brinst, are you really a moderator." Still being the "jokester" while trying to make things light I decided to answer, "I could be, you'd never know :D! and "I've got you fooled!" At that time I don't know anything about in game moderators and was still thinking that this VIP member has to realize that I am in fact not a MOD! A minute or two goes by and a "Sr mod" comes to aid the VIP's command in hopes to catch this impersonating monster that I was being. The VIP tells him that I was offending his authority and was impersonating a mod! Still flustered and confused, while still trying to talk my peace I was being talked down to by the the moderator who joined. I was falsely accused of one of the warnings that was received such as offending the VIP's authority when in fact he too offended me as a player, making my entire MCSG experience a bad one. I will however say this, if a VIP cannot tell the difference between a regular player who decides to make a funny and an actual mod than what exactly is the purpose of him being in the higher authority or having them to begin with? That probably isn't the best if he had to ask me for my actual title. Thank you for your time, former MCSG player.

VIP doesn't have higher authority. They just deserve respect because they helped the server in some way. Either through building a map, advertising through a youtube channel with a compelling amount of people who subscribe, or through some other means.

What you were doing is completely wrong and against the rules. You should of read the rules before you said anything. Now you say

No. No, no, no. The VIP helped the server and does not necessarily know what each rank looks like. Plus the VIP may think you're disguised. Since he/she thought otherwise, he/she brought along another moderator/senior staff member to investigate, which was the correct answer to the situation.

Sure you were joking, but it's against the rules and you should respect them, not write this acting like it's so wrong that you got in trouble for it. The VIP was doing the right thing by reporting you to the staff. Whether or not you were flaming him/her, you won't get in trouble for that unless there are screenshots, in which kicks/bans may be coming your way, if they haven't already.

For future reference, if you ever want to be something you're not, just be quiet about it and imagine it in your head ;). Nobody can get you in trouble there.

First of all, how dare you tell me to keep things in my head. That is down right disgusting for you to even mutter, put that IN your head and think about what you say next time.***

If a member has the appropriate means to contact a moderator then there should be no problem with knowing who is a mod for sure, that is ridiculous! And how is this issue helping the server? Falsly accusing a player from an accusation made while he reprimanded me for the initial issue, nuh uh bud that's not right.

I will tell you what was the thing you did wrong.

Regarding rule 11.

11. Do not mislead people: Do not mislead people into learning false information that will trick them into doing something idiotic.

Example:
  1. Do alt f4 for diamonds
  2. Do /kill at start to see your kill stats
  3. Non-staff: I’m a moderator!
  4. do /v for free sword at start

  • Messages about alt+f4 or ctrl+w are not allowed.
  • Lying to people so you can get a map voted is not allowed.
  • Telling people to do /kill is not allowed.
  • Impersonating staff or famous people will not be tolerated.

The rule I highlighted, "Impersonating staff or famous people will not be tolerated". Thats what you did wrong. You said you were a moderator overhand the fact you obviously aren't a moderator. Obviously the VIP knew about this rule and decided to call Sr. Staff to stop your jokes. Jokes are taken very serious and aren't tolerated. For example: If you say you hack while you don't you will get banned.

There you go.

Next time, if you want to help, just don't lie. Just simply say "I'm not a moderator, but maybe I can help you?"
