Have you tried 1.7 yet? There's a lot of performance improvements that make it work better than vanilla 1.6. Obviously OptiFine will still work better, but 1.7 may work fine for you.

Trust me. I get 5 FPS.

I get 5 FPS without optifine. And optifine is only at 10%...

I opened this thread with happiness and excitement over the CA Hub, so I could finally play with a good connection/fps on my location of chose. Instead, I face extremely saddening news of dropping 1.6 support.

What I don't get is that other popular server networks are able to run the dual 1.6/1.7 support with little to no issues. Can MCSG really not do the same?

Oh and don't bother making a CA Hub without the dual support; the primary reason players wanted a CA Hub was for that very reason. If you notice, before 1.7, the CA community greatly opposed the implementation of a CA Hub.

In all seriousness, we'd rather be stable on 1.7 only than have random disconnections and lag, making the game nearly unplayable, with both 1.6/1.7 support.

Because 96.8% of our players are on 1.7, and we aren't going to continue to support an outdated Minecraft version.

But that's just abandoning us 3.2% on 1.6, making us not being able to play.

Im sure Forairan sees your point, but the US network is far bigger then the CA network, which is why, the CA network gets put under the US. The 3% of the people are a fraction of the population of MCG, naturally majority wins. oh and Im sure Forairan like your use of the semicolon.
