Hello everyone, I am making this thread to express my opinion. I don't want any flame, If there is, I'll get a mod to lock it.

I think there shouldn't be any age limit for moderator.
Why should people be judged on age? Should it not be on how well there application is written and how mature they act? If you would like to have a calm debate about this topic, feel free to post.
If you arecan owner of a server yourself, I th nk you should take this into considerstion.

Right, prime example:
Can you imagine the difference between maturity and knowledge of responsibility that is shown between a 19 year old an a 9 year old? Picture 9 year old mods, ok, just for a second, a NINE year old with the power to ban people, they may easily be lead astray and tempted into randomly banning people or breaking the rules, however, you could argue that this is much less likely with a 19 year old as they are more able to appreciate the responsibility in being a mod and how you should act. I think the age limit of (15?16?) is very reasonable.

I'm about to start Driver's Ed, if no one has made a good post when I'm done ill make one.
that makes you sound very cocky

But there will always be an age limit, probably because of past experiences with under aged mods. Im guessing the reason for this thread is because you aspire to one day become moderator, thats where an Age Exception comes in. After you get an age exception, you can apply for mod normally dood.

That is true, I know that. But that is very stereotypical. Honestely, I know a lot of VERY mature 12-13 year olds. If they act mature to others and make a very detailed application, I don't see why it should matter what age you are.

Yes, but also at the age of 16 or so, you are much more aware of how to communicate and should be comfortable fluently talking in formal context, moderators represent a server, and most admins/owners don't want 'children' to be showcased as their staff, they would prefer presentable, mature and sophisticated players. Of which, are older.

Not trying to be "ageist" or anything, however there is a HUGE maturity jump as age increases. Obviously you can still be more mature for your age, but as someone who is an "adult" I can tell you the difference between 12-->15-->18 is huge.

You can get an age exception. I did, now I'm getting an interview and I'm under the limit. People that are underage and good enough have that chance.

Although this is norm,ly true, I have seen absoloutly amazing young staff. Tironas11 for example. He was an amazing mod in my opinion. He would fit into every single category you have named. Although we are technically "children" do we have to be a certain age to be appropriate material for moderator? I believe I can have a conversation with a 16 year old like any other adult would talk to another.
