Any good recording software programs?

I use Dxtory, but I would only suggest it if you have an external hard drive. Otherwise, its not that expensive, only like 35$

Another good Youtuber as a Dxtory user is Antvenom.

For Dxtory use the Largarith codec. And Dxtory has a better quality at lower res and higher res videos. If I know anything it's video editing xD
Lagarith ruins my quality :O

I use Bandicam Registered for my Windows 8 Toshiba laptop and it records so smooth and in HD.

In the bottom of the window there's a yellow video settings button. You'll know what to do from there. And no I render it in Sony Vegas since I put my intro and outro in and also do a bit of editing :)

I pressed video settings, then?
also do you use crop stretch or extend?

Umm, stretch, then try extend. Stretch (I think) is changing your native recording resolution to that. Expanding is expanding it to that. So I think stretch is good :s

If you are looking for a cheap program, that doesn't remove 20 frames per second, then i recommend Mirillis Action.
It is a very good screen capturing software, and can also allow you to livestream right to twitch!
