Survival Server and Grieving

That's why I don't play on these kind of servers. You build up your home/base, gather resources, but everything changes when the fire nation attacks.

I do tend to build my bases out of spawn... but I think you misunderstood me when I said "middle", not vertical level, but the distance from spawn to border, having bases close to spawn is bad... and having bases near the border is bad because that's an easy scouting square.

Yeah I realized you meant horizontal level. It's just seems that because there is a large number of people playing in a small map, distance from spawn doesn't change anything. It's all about efficiency and hiding bases because if a large faction splits up to scout for bases, they will eventually find one and the only solution is to have good defences e.g. obsidian, surrounded by water etc.

I think their should be a limit to the amount of people you have in a fac. i.e.: theElite have around like 20 member all in god armor and such and they completely control everything.

I used to be in a faction that would go from server to server conquering everyone in the servers, the best thing you can do is build your base floating in the air above a large crater filled with lava, make the base out of one layer of cobblestone on the outside and two-three layers of obsidian, they'll come expecting to be able to use tnt cannons, just wait until they stop and use knockback swords when the realise they have enderpearl up there... problem solved.

Use ender chests, or play on a no griefing server. The thing I don't like about griefing allowed servers, is the amount of people who then use xray. Not really much you can do about it. The community in no griefing servers are usually awesome too
