Ok just coming from one of the people who helped build the new MCSG lobby...
I would really get back in your box about criticizing people about their builds because as we all know building takes alot of time. Another thing is we made it not a fun as the other lobbies because you are only in there for 2 mins anyway so whats the point in doing some full blown lobby with tonnes of detail and stuff for it to be explored for 2 mins before the game.
P.S That lobby took us a week

First of all I would like to point out that you took that I did not in any way say that it was badly built. I think I did in fact say that it was well built! I'm just saying that it was lacking the interesting things that were in the original lobby. Loic also had some great points in his posts, why should it be less fun because there is less time?
I'm trying not to sound mean here, but the way you worded your post really hit me. In my post I did my best not to be offensive and point out the good things as well as the bad things, which are everywhere (I mean everything is good and bad in some ways).
So basically you're saying that Team Elite was lazy and didn't feel like trying? Ok then.

Please don't start flame wars in my thread. I'm just trying to discuss a topic and improve the community as a whole, and see everyone's point of view on the topic.

I wasn't trying to start one but I see your point. Lets end this here so we don't inadvertently start one.

I would also like to touch upon the subject of the dual community. It appears that we have two different communities in existence, the forum and server community. Most of the forumers are likeminded and agreeable, ready to voice their opinions and spark new ideas. Most of the players, however, are there to enjoy the game and stick with what they know. The forums are a betteer medium to get the point across than polls, but many players are not on the forums (else it'd get too crowded here). This leads to a dual community.

Forums both love and despise change, and there are often arguments on either side, but change is often the product. Most players (not saying all of them) don't know they have a choice, and most don't care. Any change is good change to them. There's costs and balances for everything, but most everything is done for the betterment of the mass, those who aren't as active in the community.

There are a lot of other players out there. They are being helped. Our goal as a forum should be to better both our and their experiences. Everyones doing their best right now, and there will be clashes of interest, but I feel most of this will end up heading towards the zenith as long as we continue collaboration. Sacrifices must be made on either side to meet in the middle. Its been happening and it is continuing today.

Many people have derived enjoyment in and around these servers, and lets work to keep it that way ;)

For the map situation, Why not add a map for a week, Trial it and let everyone play and get a taste of the gameplay, Than have a in game poll for it to stay or go. This could possibly stop all the hate submitted from map related matters.

This guy brings up a good point, and I think he has the right idea.

The way I think of it, the people on the servers are the general population, while the people on the forums the vocal population, with the forumers being a subset of the general population. Forumers are people who enjoy MCGamer enough to join into its active community, and thus feel more polarized by events and people within the community. They are set apart from the general population by the amount of interactivity they have with other fellow forumers, which makes them politically powerful; proportionally there is 1 forumer for every 100+ people on the servers who stay quiet, which means that the voice of the 1 is heard over the rest of the 99+ (I can run numbers tomorrow if I have the time).

But that does not mean that the forum population is necessarily fully representative of the thoughts, beliefs, and opinions of the general population. The players who play on our servers but have never touched our forums are our silent majority, and quite a few decisions have been made primarily with them in mind. Our forumers have proven themselves to be more vocal, involved, and adept at utilizing what MCGamer has to offer, which is why sometimes we have to make decisions on behalf of the other, silent population.

We can and will work with both sides of the community, and hopefully help bridge the two more closely together; it's amazing how many people discover we have a website and forums through word of mouth alone. But, as we post on our forums, let's keep in mind that the opinions posted here are not the only opinions that exist, and that a vocal minority is still a minority in the face of a silent majority. It's just easier to hear you guys.

I quite like them staggered actually. It gives out more hype for the map in question and increases player base in this time. Also if you have to get a new map every week then the map quality would be awful. It would be like some of the rubbish that was on the Competition servers a while back.

Im not going to lie there were at least 40 good SG maps there that would kick all of our maps butts.

No, What I mean is, Say it's everyday MCSG than they decide too add Moonlight Lake 2, Instead if getting this on the server for months we could just put it on the server for a week, This would give the community a taste of the map, If they like it, It stays. Than its back to normal. It's kind of like a clan someone gets officer, they're put on trial so the clan members can judge them, Than a final decision is made.
