Like MCJackson has already stated, we will not punish you for speaking out and saying your opinions. If you voice your opinion in a hatefull way however, we might have to punish you. There is a fine line between constructive criticism/carefully voicing your opinion in a mature way, and just speaking whats in your mind. If you are punished for just speaking your mind in a mature way, you can contact me and I will make sure everything is sorted out in a fair way. We do not punish for voicing your opinion. I will be watching this thread carefully, as will lots of other senior staff. Opinions are fine on here, but if what you say is intentionally and unnecessarily offending anyone, your message will be removed and possibly forum privilages revoked. This is not a thread for you to go wild and join on the bandwagon insulting people if you think you can get away with it. This is a thread to maturely and responsibly voice your opinions in a safe manner.

I posted this on your profile post and I will say it again. You should never be afraid to voice your opinion on here. If you act in the appropriate manner and do end up getting in trouble, I will promise you I will stand with you and make sure you are able to speak freely on here. We are not censoring every single negative thread on here. When something like that happens it usually ends up being debated in the staff chat.

Members, we care about you and I will always care about you on here. I was at one time a member just like you. As I said above you should never be afraid to voice your opinion on here as long as it is in an appropriate manner. You guys make up the community! It doesn't just revolve around the staff. I enjoy talking to you guys in game and especially in teamspeak when I see you guys on there and I decide to talk to new people. If I ever feel you guys are unfairly discriminated against I promise I will stand on your side.

Mods, of course you need to act in a more professional manner you should never be afraid to post something. I will admit to you guys myself I at one time was a bit nervous to say some things as a moderator on here. But now I realize that as moderators you play another active role on the forums and are a necessity for making that bond with the staff and the community through moderating the servers and serving as good examples. As I said with members, If I ever feel you are unfairly discriminated against I swear I will make sure you are safe from any form of punishment. Just remember, you need to act in a professional manner.

All in all you guys should NEVER feel afraid to speak on here. You have my word, If I ever feel anything is wrong on here I will be sure your voice is heard and you can say what you want. As long as it is an appropriate manner and you are not raging in the chat or yelling at the staff for something.
Staff that stands with the community is what most people are looking for, I'm glad you're able to reassure the community honestly.

I have to agree with some of your points. I can think of a person who I will not name that was denied for mod 3 times but got on Team Elite then reapplied and was accepted. Is my story 100% accurate? I'm not sure, but I believe who told be.

There are at least 4 players who have been banned unfairly. And the ban dispute section has failed those players. Quite frankly, people should be reasonably concerned that they could be unreasonably banned. What can the staff do about this? Stop ignoring the issue, the community knows that there are people who have been unfairly banned and the staff seems to just be ignoring the situation. The mods, sr. mods, admins and even the users are accountable for their actions.

If we take a look at Just_Hellooo's demotion, he did break rules, rules that he should not have broken but it was all in good spirit. There are probably other things involved in his demotion that the community does not need to be made aware of, there is at least one thing that I can think of that is likely another reason. Just_Hellooo had also fought for players who he deemed to be unfairly banned, and I think that this is potentially a reason he was demoted, not that the staff would ever admit to that.

The staff has said that no one will be punished for speaking their mind, but those who harass people will be held accountable. Know your boundaries and stay with in them and nothing bad will happen to you. Take in mind that your actions here may potentially prevent you from being a staff member in the future, I think that I have said enough to have no chance of becoming a mod (not just in this post).

Do not be fearful users, everyone will be held accountable for their actions in due time.

Over the past couple of weeks, many new mods have been accepted into the staff. Most of these mods are relatively unknown. On the flip side, many mods have been demoted. (Resolve back to beginning *) I have heard plenty of rumors (tell me if I'm wrong) that quite a few mods have been accepted for no other reason than being in Team Elite. (Resolve back to beginning *)
The reason a lot of people who are team elite are accepted as mods is because there are a lot of people who are in team elite. Being in team elite does not give you special treatment when it comes to being staff. It's nothing more than a rumor.

We would stop assuming that if the staff would actually tell the community about many of these dilemmas. Without the community, there is no staff. IF the community feels as though the staff is confiding things (stuff in general) from them, then there MUST be a miscommunication somewhere.
The reason we can't tell you about certain issues(like demotions) is because we are not allowed to. It would be like publicly shaming someone if we just said "this person was demoted and here is the stupid things he did". It is unethical and unprofessional.

If the community feels something is a bad decision, then the staff should try to fix this. For instance, the community has been upset about a few of the demotions. If the community feels that they are a good mod but a select few staff members don't, then what should take precedence? I'll probably be told I'm wrong, though.
We do try to fix the things people are mad about. People dislike lag, we try to fix it. People dislike too little servers, we fixed it. The reason we're not rehiring some of the people who were demoted was because there was a reason for the demotions. Sadly, this is something we can't show you guys our side of it since it would look like publicly shaming. For every demotion, we provide evidence for the person demoted. You can feel free to ask the person demoted. If they said they were never given evidence, they can talk to us and we will give them the evidence again.
Players have been repeatedly and unfairly banned for things they haven't done. Recently, 4 different players receiving bans have been unbanned. Sources tell me that these players should not have been banned in the first place.
Ever since the beginning of MCSG hundreds of people have been unbanned. This doesn't mean everyone should of been unbanned due to the fact a few were.

Time for Tomahawk to lay down some rant.

You people seem to have something to complain about every week. You have too little servers! You have too many servers! Nerf donor privileges! You don't have enough staff! You have too many staff! Getting VIP is too hard! You have too many VIPs!

My point here is, people will always find something to complain about. People are never happy with what they have and must always demand more of people. If you recall any of these previous complaints, they always are an issue for one or two weeks, then everyone stops caring. It is what people like to call the bandwagon effect. The way it works is like this, one person of somewhat "importance" has a complaint or a certain belief. What follows is everyone else agreeing with what this one person said because they see that character as someone of high stature. The same thing happens here all the time.

To sum it all up, you people will complain about this for a week, then will go on complaining about how MCSGv2 isn't as good as MCSGv1 or something.

Tomahawk, I respect what you're trying to say here but of course people are always complaining. How can the community better itself if the members do not tell the staff and developers what should be fixed in game or anything. No community is perfect, no one should expect this community to be perfect, am I right? It is not that people are not appreciative of what they already have, they are and the fact that they're still playing proves that, but it is that the community members know they can help to improve the community they are in, should you be mad at the community members for trying to do this? Not at all, some things, I can agree with, are ridiculous but others should not be dismissed simply as "another complaint by the little kids that make up the community." Thanks for voicing your opinions as well. I'm hoping that I shed some light on the situation

That's an excellent analogy....but not an entirely accurate one according to the situation at hand, the recent "Staff v. Community" situation to be specific. I'm glad you're willing to speak on behalf of the mods but once again, are you looking at this from the perspectives of the actual community or are you just assuming things? I'll say it again, look at both sides of a situation before you post something like this. I respect the amount of time and thought you put into this thread and the fact that I feel the need to reply to you means that you've done a good job of stating your thoughts on the matter. What I see here is the perspective of a staff member and what he believes the community is trying to do rather than what the community is actually doing. The real perspective of the community, once again from the situation at hand, is that they feel the Greater Staff, above all of the standard Moderators, are treating the community unfairly and doing things to further their own agenda. I'm personally not going to go into further detail to prevent flame war but my point is clear. I don't feel that all the Staff members are being put on the "Evil train", there are just some complaints that community members feel that they must go public about. No need to get worried, it's good if a staff member replies with a solution to the problem or perhaps an explanation as to why that person felt the need to make a post like that complaining about the problem and reassuring them that all measures are being taken towards community satisfaction. Don't go around putting community members on the "Evil train" because of what they say, as you feel they are doing to the staff, it's good to look at this from both sides. Thank you and have a nice day :) Once again I appreciate you speaking your mind as a staff member.
I suppose I could have worded things better in that post, as it was slightly rushed. Obviously, many members do feel legitimately threatened by staff, and in those cases it's great to put your worries towards a mod. I made a bit of a generalization in the post. No community member means to be distrustful pointlessly towards mod, what I stated in my post talked more about the misconceptions that lead towards the situations us mods are currently in. No one means to create it, it's in no way malicious (even if it does lead to malicious actions). Point is - No player distrusts and hates upon mods simply to be rude or gang up on us, it's just a natural response created by many misconceptions about the staff as a whole.

I'm glad you could re-phrase that, to show understanding of the situation at hand is more than what most staff members can say. :)

On the part of miscomunication and the community disagreeing with some demotions part I must say those two shouldnt be associated. I mean... It does make sence in my opinion why a mod gets demoted shouldnt be told, its none of the normal players bussines.

I know many (and Ive found myself in that situation too) disagree with demotions sometimes just because they like the person and they think he/she is cool... but it must be understood that theres far more than that to a mod, one awesome person who is a mod can be extremely lazy and not do his/her job and get demoted, but that would be a deserved demotion because of what Ive stated before, theres more than just how much of a good person the mod is.

Ill give a very personal example, a couple of month ago I got accepted as mod and never got to finish my interview due to personal problems on my end... but as time went through, in the end, I decided not to ask for the interview again becasue I thought of how good I would do my job as a mod since I wouldnt be of much use to catch hackers, because of the extreme lag Ive always played with, which are MCSG's main concern and I would have only been useful to punish those who swear or insult other players (who are far from being the main concern). Thats why I decided not to be a mod after all (as much as I wanted and want to be), it would be one more space to give a chance to someone else who would make a better mod and also because I knew sooner or later I could make a mistake because of the conditions in which I play.

My point is... you can ask around and youll probably find people who will say they like me and that Im a good guy and yet I wouldnt have made the best mod, would have been demoted evetually for understandable reasons and people could still complain because they liked me, the story would be too long for the staff to explain why and in the end it wouldnt be worth the trouble.

I dont think theres much miscomunication between the staff and the comunity, and the little bit there is, is not on this topic.

Remember this is only my opinion though! :)
