Nahh, I don't reckon bows should be easier to get. Bows can potentially change a fight.
Also, as for the apples, it doesn't really matter. You can get food elsewhere. Why should diamond armour be added? Big advantage. Plus, gaining diamonds to make the armour is more challenging and fun. I love potatoes. I think that the better chests should get more than one diamond per chest very RARELY.
Staying to the hunger games theme, NPCs shouldn't be added. Would you find random people in an arena like that? No. The game makers only allow tributes into the arena. I know the survival games is different, but still.
I think that's all.
Oh yeah, I think putting chests randomly around the map is bad... Unless its only a few blocks away from the original position.
