You kept absolutely awfully designed maps like Solar Frost, Holiday Resort, Breeze Island, Survival Games 1 and Survival Games 3.

And yet you removed so many fan favourite well designed maps like Highway, Adrenaline, Zone 85 (WTF), Breeze Island 2, Holiday Resort 2, Green Grass, Icarus and Moonbase.

Zone 85 is the funniest. That was up in everyone's top preference.

(Correct me if I'm wrong) Actually neither Solar Frost or Holiday Resort won any of the three map voting polls on the official MCGamer twitter (Gyazo links below). Also the map pools weren't exactly very hard to vote for as two of the three polls had one or two good choices and the others were maps no one likes. The only reason the community voted for them was because they had no other choice as it was limited to the selection within the twitter votes! If Zone85 was on any of those polls it would have won. I know that you guys can't add all the maps in straight away as you need time to fix bugs on them before releasing, but at least add good maps in and not Mausoleum..

Also including the maps that "L" stated would be very good for the clan community, which is the core of your active playerbase, as just about all of those maps are regular CB maps. Half of them are top picks in the AU scene anyway. Its obviously about appealing to the whole population of the server, but I think next time the polls should have heavily popular maps eg: Zone85, Adrenaline, SG Highway and Holiday Resort V2. Have votes every 2 weeks or so that way you can slowly wean them in and fix bugs on them. I hope I'n not coming across as salty or anything, I just want to bring back good maps!

How dare you slander Holiday Resort. I do agree partially though, nobody ever votes for SG1/SG2/SG3. I’m not sure why they got added back in the first place, since they weren’t very popular back in the old days either.

Holiday Resort and Breeze Island are fan favourites due to nostalgia, but they are clearly outdated in design. Holiday Resort 2 and Breeze Island 2 should replace them to pay respect to the older maps while keeping them up to the standard of maps in the current day.

Yes Turbulence did win, but solar frost didn’t and look what maps they were up against haha. Also you said earlier that holiday and solar won by a landslide, they did get top 2, but neither of them actually won the polls. All I’m hoping for is the next polls will have good map choices on them (CB Maps).

The top 2 maps in the vote get added, so solar frost and turbulence got added.

As for a general response to the current map pool I'll say this.
As I said already, the current map pool is almost entirely comprised of maps chosen by the community. Every map except for the first 6 (SG1-4, breeze and valleyside) were voted in by the players. The staff had no hand in adding those maps whatsoever.
I agree they are outdated in design. The current theme is 'Nostalgia Games', where we add all the old maps the players liked to play back in the day, and the really old maps where MCSG really began. After full release, we will move to a map rotation pool, where the maps that simply arent played will be removed, and new maps added (new maps being either completely new maps made by us or the community, or old maps re-touched to address issues that made them not fun to play). This way we reduce staleness by having "seasons" of map pools made up of only the most popular maps. Alongside that, every map ever made will be available through mcsg maker.

Ok thanks for that. But who chooses the 4 maps that go for voting on the polls on Twitter? Is that not the staff though? The community votes for them, but the staff provide the voting options by choosing the 4 maps to vote for.
