Well when I was about 9, my best friend told me to try out Runescape (ah, the childhood
) and warned me that once I picked my name I wouldn't be able to change it, so I shouldn't pick anything stupid. My 9-year-old brain decided to stick my actual name, Kyle, someplace in there. Back then I was obsessed with Naruto, and the movie "Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow" had just come out, and this anime magazine I was reading in a bookstore had a character list and movie coverage. Just so you know, I held off making my account until I came up with a cool name XD
So I tried out some of the character names put in before and after "Kyle". For example, Sandayu, Fubuki, and Mizore (which was a close second). So I almost ended up Mizorekyle, which, I don't know, just didn't have the same ring to it in my opinion. I was pretty damn proud of myself for thinking it up, and I was extremely triumphant. Despite the years of fun and obsession Runescape brought me, it eventually started going downhill, and I stopped playing. I came across a few other games I was similarly addicted to, and since the name-finding process was soooo excruciating/boring for me, I decided to just make it easy on myself and go with Nadarekyle again, because like I said, I was pretty proud of myself for smacking two words together.
What does Nadarekyle mean? Well, "Nadare" is the Japanese word for "avalanche" (9-year old brain, guys
), so there's that. Avalanche Kyle? Sound stupid? Not quite. After a couple years I found out the meaning of my name, which is essentially the Irish word for a narrow strip of land where cattle graze. It didn't take me long to realize what would happen if an avalanche met some peacefully grazing cattle, and I cemented my love for the name with that
TL;DR: Runescape and Naruto gave me my name, and it means dead cows.
