Community Response to GoldEllipse's Video?

So, I'm sure that most of the community already knows about the video in question. Basically, Gold's VIP was removed due to his breaking of various Teamspeak rules, spam switching channels, playing soundboards, and generally failing to follow the guidelines set out by the staff. Consequently, he posted a video where he claimed to "expose" the staff for the corrupt and biased people they apparently are. According to him, there is only a few "good" staff members that are not tryharding for admin or properly banning rulebreakers. I won't link the video here, but if you wish to view it you can go to Gold's YouTube channel.

My question to everyone is, what do you think of the whole situation? Please try to avoid flaming and drama in your responses, but do let me know what you thought of it. Personally, I have my own opinions of Gold and I expressed as much in a comment on the video, but I'd like to hear the community's voice in the matter. Let me know!

To be honest, he repeatedly states 'I don't care about my rank anymore' yet I don't understand why he made the video? He simply could made an SG, but he wants to place as much emphasis on the fact that he lost V.I.P. He says the server is corrupt, yet I don't see him complaining about the money he has made using MCGamer? MCSG Staff try, some more then others but as a whole they have maintained the server for many years. If he doesn't like the staff as much as he says he does he should've left a long time ago..

Well, if he is saying that the staff team is corrupt for taking away his VIP, even though he did do things that could remove it. So it isn't our fault and we aren't corrupt at all, if we found him doing these things, in my opinion, we did the appropriate and right thing. We didn't remove his rank because we "felt" like it or we just "can". Especially since the Administrations deals with VIP's not Moderators or Senior Staff.

I thought it was hilarious xD. There were so many flaws to his argument that tbh I was kinda disappointed in the video. He said he was going to "expose" the staff team but all he did was express his feelings with little to no evidence to back him up and try and call out only 1 out of the 5 admins. That video was just a meme.

Well in your opinion yes, I am not gonna judge your opinion. But I'm just speaking from what I've experienced, I am having a wonderful time as a Moderator!

I wanted to make this exact thread. I think he took his rank for granted. He thinks he should be given a warning for how big of a person he is, but as a VIP for a somewhat big network you should know all the rules on all platforms of the community. Now, a few points here and there regarding the staff team are correct. One I think he hit the nail on was that some people in the team are power hungry. As sad as it may seem, it honestly is true. They just want to see their power within the community rise, and will do anything for that to happen. Now this is not pertaining to all staff members, because there are definitely staff members out there who do all this because they love the server and really care about it that much.

One thing I found interesting was the mentioning of NagolGames' past relationship with Gold. Now I would love to see if this really happened in the past, where Logan (according to Gold) "fanboyed" over Grapeapplesauce and would always talk to Gold about them 3 playing together. This wouldn't be to prove anyone wrong or to bash on anyone else, but really just to hear both sides of the story. Sadly, in the video he portrays Logan as a past friend who was thirsty for attention and became power hungry while within the staff team*.

I'm sure I have more to say but I forgot the majority of the video as a lot of it seemed repetitive or really was just story-telling. I used to be a big GoldEllipse fan the first time he got VIP, but now he kinda just seems like the kinda guy who wants to use his fame to his ability, and takes it for granted which is really upsetting

People are gonna automatically agree with him because 1. he's famous and 2. hating mcsg is the new trend. I dont know what he was saying about 'used to be' immature, his arguments certainly seem quite immature. Sigh.

Ok gold. OK. Sure. That makes a lot of sense. He got his VIP removed instead of being banned, that's being lenient instead of being banned... As a VIP your standards of upholding rules is higher (it applies for me as a map maker as well) so for him to play soundboards in the first place is really stupid.

About the youtubers putting curse words in their names, Zyper also typed banned cuss words in public chats so it makes sense that he got a higher punishment, not just because of a 'grudge'.

Saying terrible things about an admin without any proof (how convenient)... Hmph, I'll believe it when I see the evidence buddy. Telling your friends about something isn't proof of anything either; I can tell my friends I met the president but it doesn't mean it happened.

It's really confusing, who is he mad about: the admins or the mods? he keeps jumping back and forth between them as if they're the same thing; the mods were simply representing the evidence they were given and doing their job. Granted, mods certainly can make mistakes, but saying that all of them are exactly the same is stupid. I saw a dog that was really big once, does that mean all dogs are really big? Not at all! But if you get banned, you can always ask senior staff for evidence and they'll always provide it; don't like it, you can dispute it.

Staff members believe staff members because they have a level of trust with each other involving their job. Trusting a customer over a colleague in any job is stupid. Like, Gold seems to know absolutely everything about how the administration teams work because he has lots of subscribers on youtube. Wow cool!

About the 'mods being power hungry', this is literally the case on every single server. If you're qualified enough for mod, you want the higher promotion. It's not corruption, its business smarts. I don't see anyone complaining about Badlion mods or Hypixel mods or Mineplex mods about being power hungry. How does Gold know what mods want and don't want? The only thing he's seen about the mods is their chat macros and fancied up PR posts on the forums (which every mod does).

Exposing the staff team. LOL. The youtubers that want lots of viewers honestly will agree simply because, again, hating MCSG is popular and makes them seem cooler and more powerful (pvp gods anyone?). You can just say whatever you want bad against MCSG and people will agree with you because its fun to hate against mcsg or something... idek

Ok I'm done trying to tackle all of his points since he just is flaming the server without any solid evidence for the claims

Allow us not to forget, this isn't the first time GoldEllipse has lost his rank. He should be lucky he is being treated in a way that hasn't resulted in a serious ban.

Edit: I haven't watched the video, frankly I may not end up ever watching it. From what I'm seeing here it seems like it's just a massive rant with unsupported points, made to rally tons of people with him against the staff team doing two things, making him look important and giving him "support" against the staff team that took away his rank.

But like he said in the video. You guys are just going to side with the server. Because no one will say that it is going downhill. None of you can tell me that MCSG is not the same as it used to be. Some of the things he said were stupid and not necessary. But I am more towards Gold's side. (If he is not lying)
