Recently, DDOS attacks have become a very popular way to compromise someone's internet connection. I am not going to go into too much depth on what a DDOS attack is, this thread is intended to prevent DDOS attacks in the first pace. For someone to DDOS you, they must first get a hold of your IP. To prevent a DDOS attack, it's best to make your IP hard to get. A very popular and easy way to get someone's ip is through a number of different online skype resolvers. To prevent skype resolvers from getting your ip, click here:

- link snipped -

On top of that, your IP can be gained by joining non-trusted teamspeak and/or minecraft servers. Joining online chat groups can also be a way, and clicking links that you don't 100% trust can be used to gain your IP. On top of all these, if you just don't be a jerk people won't have any reason to DDOS you. If you are under a DDOS attack, the best thing is to just go outside. DDOS attacks usually don't last very long and a bit of sunshine never hurts.

Hopefully this helped some people and I hope you have a wonderful day! :)

Also in CSGO, do in console:
cl_allowdownload 0
cl_allowupload 0
cl_downloadfilter none
That prevents community servers from downloading stuff to your csgo folder
Even if u just join a community server they can gain your info.

Do you do that in the console once and it works every single time? Or do you do that every single time you go into a server?

Amazingly written and informative other than that Badlion thread, which I did have to snip since it breaks the rules.

Anyway this will still definitely be a helpful thread. Thanks for making this.

I'm pretty sure it works for everytime. But just to be sure you should make an autoexec.cfg file that starts up commands everytime you open CSGO.
^ Guide on how to make an autoexec.

EDIT: Yo I was going to do that for my skype, why did the link get snipped?
