Recently, DDOS attacks have become a very popular way to compromise someone's internet connection. I am not going to go into too much depth on what a DDOS attack is, this thread is intended to prevent DDOS attacks in the first pace. For someone to DDOS you, they must first get a hold of your IP. To prevent a DDOS attack, it's best to make your IP hard to get. A very popular and easy way to get someone's ip is through a number of different online skype resolvers. On top of that, your IP can be gained by joining non-trusted teamspeak and/or minecraft servers. Joining online chat groups can also be a way, and clicking links that you don't 100% trust can be used to gain your IP. On top of all these, if you just don't be a jerk people won't have any reason to DDOS you. If you are under a DDOS attack, the best thing is to just go outside. DDOS attacks usually don't last very long and a bit of sunshine never hurts.
Hopefully this helped some people and I hope you have a wonderful day!
