Hello once again Tributes!

To day it has come to my attention that there is a large margin for improvement on the Teamspeak side of Moderation. Having spent the best part of two days inside General/Premium Teamspeak channels I have come to realise that Teamspeak Moderation is not as good as it should be.

I have witnessed DDoS threats, death threats, unneeded and excessive cussing, Soundboards and Screamer links being spammed into the chat. For the past half an hour I have been attempting to think of an effective method to catch these "rule-breakers". Luckily for us, I have come up with a solution.

In no way does this solution end all "rule breaking" or put a stop to "sound boards" but it provides evidence by which these offenders can be punished. The only problem is that as of now, this "solution" is against the rules. However i'm going to pitch it to you either way, here we go :
  • As of now, recording in public channels is banned for obvious reasons, but upon further inspection (by myself) Moderation does not seem to extend down to the general chats. However if we were somehow allowed to record in public channels, then users reporting offenders would be able to provide a form of evidence. If this was possible then the Moderator would not be obliged to warn the offender.
  • Obviously there would need to be strict restriction, such as when a Moderator tells you to stop, you stop. But with help from non-Moderators Teamspeak Moderation would be a heck of a lot easier. So basically, lets allow recording in public channels, with restrictions/rules!
That's basically it guys, if you like the idea then comment why, and if you don't then also comment why! Also, some Moderators may take this thread the wrong way. However I hope they do not as this is not targeted in anyone in particular as all the Moderators are amazing, it's just I think Teamspeak Moderation could be better! I certainly was not any good at it! D:

Why not just allow people to record but not allow them to release the recording publicly?

I love your idea of recording in Channels, but it could he abused and playeds can edit the audio and get you Banned...
I see how it may be abused but I don't believe that anyone will edit or at least successfully edit the audio and get someone else banned. To edit the audio, you would have to make sure it sounded perfect, all of the frames matching each other and making sure there is no static, cut-off, etc. any noises like that.

I agree, personally I think this should be bought up at a Moderator meeting.

You only just realized this? That's why it's so unmoderated. Despite how many threads get made about this, mods still do nothing because somehow they're unaware. It's an obvious issue, but nothing gets done about it.

I understand what you are saying now. Whilst I was a Moderator I was completely unaware of this, however now that I am I will do my best to take action.

That's the issue. These new mods don't know about any Teamspeak issue and rush into mid and think ts is a place to hang out. Therefore, it gets ignored, and people complain. Nothing has been done about it in the 2 years I've personally experienced the ts.

Hopefully I can get this issue taken care of. Sorry you have had to experience the MCGamer Network Teamspeak in this manner ;(

The one thing that would drastically improve the Teamspeak platform is encouraging moderators to take a more relaxed, yet still mature and strict, approach to dealing with Teamspeak rule breakers. Too often do moderators come in and instead of de-escelating the situation by calmly talking and giving warnings, begin to raise their voices and hand out premature bans.

It's all about our attitudes that will change those around us.

Oh it was only at the beginning. I've gone through private chats like Ref Forest and respected chats like the Counter Strike chat. No harassing in those.
