there is something you missed... Why I the community enjoys playing breeze and mcsg4? Just because you are sick of it doesn't mean thousands o others are not...
Voting gives everyone a fair say in the mAps. If you don't like how te voting turns out get into a server with a few like minded plAyers and play all the ancient Japan and sky land survival you want...
The voting/skip system isn't broken, so there's no point in fixing it.
Well, for starters, as far as much of the forum community that likes those maps (and I was a huge fan of breeze for the first week until it became horribly overplayed), it's because they have quick games that result in more games played and fast-paced pvp action through and through (though personally, I prefer survival geared matches like SG1, where running into someone in the woods is pure one-on-one thrill).
Much of the in-game community, as others have said, play those two maps almost exclusively as a result of conditioning - that is to say, since those are the only two maps they ever get to play, those are the only two maps they know to enjoy.
Next, "If you don't like how te voting turns out get into a server with a few like minded plAyers and play all the ancient Japan and sky land survival you want..."
Do you have any idea how difficult that would be, especially for non-donors? Even if you get 5 iron donors in a game, the other 19 players would overpower them, even though they get two votes each. Secondly, that was a poor choice of words on your part, since the reason people are angry is because they don't get to play high-quality maps like SG2, SG3, SG5, Survival Kingdom, and, my personal favorite, Teweran. On the other hand, Ancient Japan and Skylands are rather unpopular among most people.
The last thing I would like to say is that just because
you don't see a problem with the current voting system, doesn't mean it isn't there, and no matter what any given person's opinion is, there is definitely a problem with only playing 2 maps out of over 10.
EDIT: Love how everyone replies to the same post all at once
