sounds like you just came back from a break. So basically the average skill level has increased massively, people are making up things called pvp mechanics and minecraft pvp has become more complicated with all these new tactics. Just play on a lot of pvp servers and you will learn it again and maybe even some new things. Stick to what is comfortable to you. : )
