I tried my best earlier, problem is one side; Atheists are asking for something from teenagers that scientists for centuries haven't been able to supply. The other side believers are trying to defend their beliefs with what gives them faith, which is faith itself. This thread has focused most entirely on Christianity, which if literal bible based, can be dis-proven. However its an entirely different story should one focus on a metaphorical interpretation of the bible it because much harder as its human nature to find patterns in everything (sometimes when there not there) and ANYTHING can be taken as metaphor. Even putting the religion aside and simply looking at God as an being outside the physical universe, and it turns into a question of faith or not, as nothing physical can prove or disprove it. The arguments on this thread will never end for this reason.I'm going to attempt to explain this the best I can.
"That which can be proven without evidence can be dis-proven without evidence"
This is one of the most common arguments I've seen towards an atheistic sense beliefs, and it holds as long as you hold deities in material. However the idea of a God can't be dis-proven without evidence either. God, or most interpretations of a celestial deity, doesn't exist in a material realm, and so using material evidence would be analogous to a book character using the story to disprove the author.
This is not to discredit science, I love science, being a physics major, with a possible change to biology. While not entirely infallible, science is our best tool to understanding the most complex and basic mechanisms of the natural and physical universe. It is not purposed or designed to credit or discredit an incorporeal being. It is a magnifying glass to observe and understand, not a hammer to drive in a point. I've seen a couple of beliefs on the existence of God vindicated with science, like they occupy a space in your psyche, and one cannot be there while the other is there. It is entirely reasonable to believe in God and science at once, and having faith does not make one an illogical imbecile any more than not having faith make one a moral-less sociopath.
Also science is NOT a religion. Whether or not you believe in science, the universe will behave in a way in which can predict. Also the word theory in science is used differently than in a typical sense. The casual use of the word would be closer to a scientific hypothesis, as in an idea, yet to be proven. A theory in science is "a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is acquired through the scientific method and repeatedly tested and confirmed through observation and experimentation". Evolution is a real thing, believe in it or not it is affecting the life everyday, as it had been since the beginning of life.
My personal beliefs is something close to animism, in which all natural things have some soul or conscience, from anything as small as atoms to as big as the universe. these souls are in no way divine however, but simply come with existing. I do not however believe in God or a god, nor do I follow any religion. In all definitions of the word I'm atheist, but that doesn't mean I can't philosophize about incorporeal ideas, it just don't think any worship or power comes with it or should go to it.
Sorry if I offended anyone, I tried to make that as sensitive as possible, feel free to respond with questions or opinions, I love learning about other beliefs.
The default position is atheism.I tried my best earlier, problem is one side; Atheists are asking for something from teenagers that scientists for centuries haven't been able to supply. But why does it have to be? The video you used to make your argument only metaphorically showed how tedious it would be to waste resources on every claim that could be made, which by the way I agree with. Once again the idea is that God, if he be real, exists outside of our reality, and cannot be proven or dis-proven within our reality. The default position is atheism.
If you agree that god is real without evidence you have to claim that unicorns and everything else without proof existsBut why does it have to be? If he exists out of reality, how do we know he exists at all? If he cannot be proven why should anyone believe in him. The best thing is to say "I don't know but there are things that I do." Its best to live your life on facts and things we do know, not lies. If no one has ever witnessed a God then he is just a man made myth. You cant conclude anything exists without sufficient evidence to support your claim. Anyone can claim anything but that doesn't mean we should say it is real. Should we all believe things we make up and cant prove? Its idiotic. But why does it have to be? ^ For all those people who say this thread has no purpose. Why don't you please just rethink your faith. You don't need to stay a Christian. I was a Christian because my family was also, but I am happier then ever that I rejected my faith. It is all fake man made stuff like every other religion. You guys are slowly turning me into an atheist, but I will stay with what my parents taught me and remain Christian.

I never agreed god is real, but I cant 100 percent agree he isn't either, and taking one doesnt mean taking all, thats where faith comes in.If you agree that god is real without evidence you have to claim that unicorns and everything else without proof exists
If that makes sense to you then go for it. the primary reason behind God and beliefs of all faiths is fear of death. Most people don't want to stop existing plain and simple, but being confided to this reality, they have faith to take them somewhere after death. sometimes if not most this faith gets out of hand.If he exists out of reality, how do we know he exists at all? There is nothing that has ever pointed to a higher power. You should say "You cant prove or disprove God so I'm going to live my life with only what I do know" but you should not say "You cant disprove God so I'm going to live my whole life as if there is one just incase."I never agreed god is real, but I cant 100 percent agree he isn't either, and taking one doesnt mean taking all, thats where faith comes in.
In some hypothetical parallel universe it could be possible unicorns exists.

There is nothing that points to it, but an arguer could potentially say that a good game designer leaves no flaws in the game and allows it to perfectly work to together without any trace of the designer, aside from an occasional easter egg. There is nothing that has ever pointed to a higher power. You are just lying to yourself if you do say that. There is no God.
