I just came up with an amazing idea I think can be used by mapmakers.
It's pretty simple, but it requires MCEdit. When you use MCEdit, you can customize the NPC Villagers trade opinions. So what you do, is that you spawn Villagers with trades like
"Stone sword for an iron ingot". (This is just an example.)

You could make a small town or something in the maps, and spawn a few Villagers.
People could make them hard to find, and give them unique trades.
I also think you should be able to get things you normally can't get in chests, by trading.
Example: 2 gold ingots for an experience potion.

People would also be able to kill the villagers, to prevent other players from obtaining these items.
This would give the game a whole new "dimension", and it would make NPC Trades kind of a competition.

So yeah, tell me what you think. And remember, this is only an idea.
If you don't like it, please don't rage at me. Constructive feedback, please.

Well, I say yes and no, in between those... Voted other so I commented here :) Not raging at you too btw. Well, I feel wierd about saying yes cuz, you might (might, ok, don't rage at me) regret what you want to choose. Adding more stuff to the servers, can make it lag more (internet lag) which always happen to me (and other people with terrible internet)
This won't really add anything new to the servers or the plugins, if that's what you meant.
MCEdit is a program you can use besides Minecraft to manipulate the game, but if a server loads a MCEdit manipulated world, it won't affect the gameplay. I haven't tried this out myself, but I am sure it works.

I'm not sure that I like this idea for the survival games. I mean, its definitely unique and different, no one can deny that, but I do think that this kind of detracts from the survival games theme. The survival games is all about working with what you have in your environment to survive, thrive, and outlast all others. I'm not entirely sure that trading with villagers fits that description. Don't get me wrong, I certainly like the idea, but I'm not entirely sure that its cut out to be in a SG map. Maybe you could take this idea and create your own games with it... A different type of "game" than the survival games.
Please, please don't think that I'm raging, because I'm really not . I like this idea, I really do. Just not for the survival games.

I actually really like the idea. I feel like it would add an extra layer to SG without really deviating from what it's supposed to be.

You're absolutely not raging. You are being constructive.

I don't really think this would remove the "SG feel". If you place the villagers in an iron room with a sign that says "two sticks for an apple", that definately remove the feel. But I think that if you stumble upon one after climbing up a mountain, where you can trade 4 sticks for an enchantment bottle, this would definitely give SG a new layer of contraptions. (Sorry villagers, I just had to call you this.) Those games where the corn has refilled like 2 times, and you are wandering around in the forest in SG3, tracking villagers would give you something to do, except hunting. People might have killed them, or pushed them down into holes and such, so it'll be kind of like the corn, -first come first served. Again, you are not raging at all. Your feedback is constructive. As long as you don't "OMGGGG, THAT WOULD TOTALLY REMOVE THE FEEEL, MAAAAN", then you aren't raging.

I kinda agree with this guy, it just doesn't seem like an SG thing to me, seems like a smaller game type on smaller servers, maybe or something like that.

The games are turning more and more alike. It needs something to spice it up.
More ideas for uses of the costume testificate trades:

Experience potions - Right now, it's very hard to get experience. On map 4, I don't think I've ever seen a single mob, so it would be awesome if you could trade something to obtain experience. Then you could enchant your stuff.

Enchanted items - As said above, it's hard to enchant stuff. Let a testificate offer an enchanted stone sword, for a stone sword and some gold ingots. Players would have a new way of prepare themselves for fights, -by enchanting their stuff.

Redstone Torches - As most of you know, if you place a redstone torch beside a redstone system, it will send out a signal. Make it hard to obtain these torches, and use them to activate traps or activate hidden piston doors.

Weapons - Did you take like 7 chests without getting a single weapon? Trade some food or armour for a weapon! Protect yourself from the otehr tributes with a brand new sword, made in the dwarf mines deep in Solar Frost.

Saddles, Spawn Pig eggs and Carrot on a stick- Did you know that you an control pigs by holding a carrot on a stick before them? They run like 5 times faster than normal players sprinting around. Also, piggies are awzm.

Tell me what you think, guys.

I voted no, but the "survival games feel" is already gone so why not add this?
