1.8 is like a professional boxing fight- you cannot throw a punch and block /dodge at the same time - you can only do them in quick succession I.e punch / block / punch / block (block-hitting)
1.9 sounds like a boxing match with a massive brick wall in between so the users can uselessly bash the wall with their weapon whilst using the wall to protect themselves.

Listen guys, maybe we are just making judgements too early.
I say we wait and see what comes out of this in a future snapshot.

honestly, I think they should keep it how it is in 1.8, or 1.7. For now. Then in the future, they can do some sort of way to ask the pvp community what we want to see, and go from there.

This is exactly what I meant when I put a suggestion in the reddit post, they aren't making Minecraft what Minecraft should be. A block game, not an RPG!


If you think about it, all the updates that are coming are straying more away from what Minecraft is, a simple block game that you can do tons of things in……

In 1.9, swords don't block; shields do - you can block and hit at the same time. I don't know what to think about this, it could be cool however it could be really awful at the same time. They've also added a left hand and players have an option to play with the left hand as the main hand (Which is good news for you lefties.)
