Is 12 months too long?

Did you make this thread because you want mod or you care about people who should get mod but have been banned? If its the first one that is all ready showing immaturity.

Yes and no. If you read the forums daily you would realise that there are a lot of great candidates for mod that have been banned in the last year.You guys know who you are <3. (Mirkoz, FlaqeL | Nick to name a few) They are such a great asset to the community and would be amazing moderators ( In my opinion). Im actually offering to change the rules to help these people out who have mistakes but have owned up to it and making up for it. As Ceroria said before, maybe a good idea is to interview them to iron out their kinks and to see if they have matured.

I however disagree on your point about that being immature. There is nothing wrong in trying to be moderator. In my position I noticed that maybe the punishment is to severe for this offence. Sr staff may say that I should have known the rules and that they take hacking very seriously. However I was new to the server and didn't even know half of the rules. I'm sure there are plenty of people in my position that would like to apply but can't because they made one mistake. In my opinion I think that this idea should be at least taken in consideration.

First Its immature if your doing it for yourself witch you somewhat are. Second...did you hack...? third not every person deserves the right to apply for mod, I think 1 year of waiting is almost nothing, honestly I think if you have been banned for something like abuse/hacking you shouldn't be aloud to become mod ever. Last even if you didn't know the rules isn't it common since to not use language/ abuse others/ hack?

I did not hack, be abusive or swear at anyone else. I was simply in a joyous mood and made a bad joke. I paid the price for this. However the main point I'm trying to make here is that maybe 12 months is too long for certain offences.

Also a year is quite a long time. Think about where you were a year ago and think about whats changed. Ill say this as politely as I can. Read the thread completely next time.

What if the rule change had the "grandfathered" effect, like the permabans for hackers? That way, punishments wouldn't have to change for old players, but new players wouldn't be so unfortunate.

No, that wouldn't be fair to only let me apply but no one else. That would be against my morals and would be quite selfish. Secondly to compare admitting to hacks as a joke and shop lifting that is quite a large difference. A better way to compare that was if you spilled a drink over a shirt and you got banned for a year but if you got caught shop lifting you get banned from it for a year. They are very, very different.

Lastly, you kind of need to read the whole thread to be able to understand it completely and offer your opinion. I have time fo dat.

If I walked up and said I shop lifted I would still get in trouble same for u on MCSG thats what I was getting at. Also Aint no body got time fo dat xD

I wasn't punished. I lied about my age and got permanently declined. Afterwards, I had asked senior staff to re-apply when I was of age. I wasn't allowed to have an age exception, but I can reapply when I turn 14. (I am currently 12).

Not to be offensive but that punishment is quite fair. In my opinion I just believe setting different waits for different offences is the way to go.

Never said the punishment wasn't fair. I know I screwed up and that is a huge way of telling me not to lie. Only to get another chance is very rare from what I've seen, I only wanted to tell you that you aren't the only one waiting a long period of time. Best of luck to the position.
