And do you think someone who has reported 800 players and was ex-staff doesn't knows how to write an application?
lol I only wish I could show my application that has gotten denied... I've had other people proof read it, mods who are currently mods, and they say it is ALOT better than theres was. So I know its not the quality of my application.

It is a lot harder for ex-staff to become moderator again. Trust me on this, I've seen a lot of wonderful mods resign, and a few weeks later, re-apply, and can't seem to get into the interview stage. For someone like Reven who has contributed a lot to the community, I would probably recommend him to talk to some of the sr.mods on the teamspeak about the situation. Also the application process & grading have gotten a lot harder. Some of the sr.staff's moderator applications would be denied by them if they were submitted right now. It's become a lot harder to get moderator for some reason, and they want both quality and quantity.
I've actually tried this. When I was declined this last time, I started conversations with 3 different sr. staff and poked 1 or 2 on teamspeak, got NO RESPONSE. Not even 1 responded. That to me is just a sign that they just don't want me as staff. They honestly should just come right out and say it instead of ignoring me.

It doesn't exactly work like that. I had plenty of experience reporting hackers and things of that nature, and I still got declined. Why? My application didn't meet their standards. It's more so of the application while these things are just sort of a cherry on the top. And Yes, all players are treated the same. In fact I recommend everyone who was declined to go ask the sr.staff why. (In my original statement, I wasn't implying just ex-staff.) I mean let's face it. Asking for the sr.staff's advice not only shows you are determined, but it gives you advice to work off of.
Hard to do when they completely ignore you everytime xD.

I know, that's what I meant by being staff makes things easier —just said it without offending anyone xD
Though, its all very true: mods give 0 fu— when you poke them. I'd apply for mod, but I don't want to join the dark side.
You guys should seriously report these mods to the sr.mods.

who exactly do I report sr staff ignoring me to? xD Admins? that also don't respond to my pokes. Col_star responds, but he's not on that often from what I see. Draco was good at responding, but he resigned :l so blah.

It's possible, an abuse report is much shorter than an application. Most detailed applications are around 600-1000 while an abuse report can maybe max out at around at 300. They also go by the quality of your writing, which is not necessarily extremely important. but if you have a lot of spelling and grammatical errors it can sway the application reader to one side or another. If an abuse report is poorly written I doubt this will affect the banning of the hacker, rule-breaker, etc.
Who the hell do you think Reven86 is? He is a grown adult and has a job —of course he doesn't have any grammatical errors.
Also, it's not about how many words you type, I've had some friends of mine become moderator in just a 300-500 words application.
Don't see how report abuse threads any relevant to a staff application....

You're honestly pretty new to this community —at least didn't saw what I see with my eyes.
In my times, if you were determined, you didn't ask a Sr.mod; you'd take action. Do you think moderators were allowed to say how to get an age exception on my days? Nope. You had to scratch on the forums until you find the thread that told you how. xD
I could of become staff, but my age exception was denied for having 3 kicks (had 1 more kick from the limit).

You guys should seriously report these mods to the sr.mods.
Why even bother; wherever there's light there will always be shadows —if you don't get this... think.

Lets try not to turn this into a rage thread :p. Thanks for defending me, but lets try to keep it calm and civilized :p

I'm actually not. I've been here for well over a year and 5 months. I know your not allowed to tell how to get an age exception, and it's still that way. In fact, I tried to get an age exception, I tried and I failed.

I get it. But it's better tham doing absolutely nothing about the situation, It's best we try to minimize the darkness.

My only complain is that they deny people with more experience and accept people with no experience at all.

Lets put it this way:
  1. Accept someone with 1,000 messages on the forums, good standards, helps moderately and has a decent amount of people reported.
  2. Or
  3. Accept someone with 1-2 messages on the forums —who is he? idk— shows no experience at helping or and modalities; no etiquette at all.
Who would you take?
Post count is irrelevant in terms of quality but it does indicate one's attitude towards the community- although before I became Mod I wanted to have a decent amount of posts, so as to avoid questions about who I am- I'd like to think that people had at least seen me around the forums before I became Mod, not the other way around.

Implying darkness can be minimized; As long as there's light, there is darkness.

You're right —and you said exactly what I meant. Showing you have 1k, 2k, 3k means nothing, however it shows your interest and attitude towards the community.

I feel like there should be some sort of requirement tho with forums posting as well as in game activity. Anyone can just get on ts, post an app and hope for the best. I feel like being an active member on the forums just shows that you care about this community even before you put in a mod app. It shows that you care about what happens in the community and that you take an interest in it. People who apply for mod who have like next to no post on here, in my opinion, seem like they are just people who play the game and saw the red name and wanted to ban hackers so they applied. They did nothing previous for the community before that point more than likely.

I feel like if it were me looking for staff member, I'd really want 3 things out of my applicants. I first want someone with experience or some kind of knowledge of what hacks and how the community works. What is the point of hiring someone who has no idea what they are doing? Sure it's ok to train some people up, but I believe we already got plenty of those in the community as it is.

I also would want someone who has put up and effort to better the community in either the forums or in game. I would want someone who has showed interest in how things go in this community before the day the put in their application. I'm not talking about the people who simply boost up their posts on the forums by doing games and getting all their friends to like all the posts on their page. I'm talking about people who post topics and suggestions on the forums that are useful to the community.

The last thing I'd want is someone who has the time to help out. I can't tell you how many US moderators that I haven't seen even once on the Mcsg servers. I play more games than most people, so if I don't see you even once outta all the games I play, then you more than likely aren't too active. I see mods who get hired that really have no games played.

Perhaps in the future this can be looked into and something can be done about it, thanks for the opinion.
