Hey fellow players! This thread is about: 'Should mods consider factors before banning players?'.
I'm writing this thread to find out what your guys' opinions are for mods banning players without even checking, the factors why it happened e.g. lag. Before you tell me that we are all human and that we all make mistakes, I know
Ok, I'm pretty sure you guys have been unfairly/false banned before (just like me), wasn't it quite annoying, as you were falsely accused? In honesty though, I was annoyed, however, I'd rather have mods that actually do ban people than mods who do not (please no flame :3). Anyways, the real question is that should mods consider the factors why maybe the player looked like he had kill aura, aimbot, etc e.g. he was lagging.
I was banned on 3/10/14 (3rd of October 2014), 7pm (BST) for apparently using 'forcefield' (which I didn't): it was a fine Saturday afternoon and suddenly one of my friends told me that GoldEllipse was streaming. I was a big fan of him, therefore, I quickly went to his twitch and started watching. Later on, I joined one of his games and I managed to kill 2 people, causing me to get stacked. After 5 minutes or so, I found Gold at spawn; I asked him if we could do a fair 1v1 but he ignored me and he started shooting me, therefore I fought back by using the bow, which I stopped using because I didn't want him to call me a 'bow spammer', therefore, I started to charging to him, while strafing to my left. I then suddenly, used my rod and started to strafe around him. At this moment in time I was excited; I was 'gg10ing' a respectable pvper and YTer, but my fun didn't last very long.
My friend who told me about his stream, was watching him at the time I was pvping him, (I wasn't watching because I used to have a really bad laptop at the time and it would cause me to lag) told me that Gold was saying stuff about me: "This guy doesn't look legit! This guy definitely doesn't look legit". Because of this, I got kicked soon after he said it. The message said: "Kicked for using forcefield. Ban will come soon." I then got banned 10 minutes after the kick for 7 days.
As soon as I got banned I posted a ban dispute in the forum, as I never did what the accusation said about me. I got unbanned 1 day after my dispute.
Anyways if you did read my ban story KUDOS to you! So, should mods consider the factors before banning players?
