For me personally, i get made fun of a lot because I have PVP in my name but i suck at PVP. But i shrug it off, its just some obnoxious kid trying to put me down for what ever reason. I would rather be a great mod and suck at PVP than an ok mod and be great at PVP

As I have been thinking of joining this discussion. I now would like to make a final decision to join.

Now, let me be straight forward here. I defiantly do NOT feel that moderators have to have high skill within PvP. Now, here is my reasoning why.

When you apply for moderator, there is a question that says "What is your past experience with moderation?:" and here is where it comes in. Some past experience with moderation, many moderators should use what they suspect as "hacking" is to look at past game-play they have seen before to put the final suspicion that the player that actually has installed and used a hacked client in general. Other moderators have probably seen more hackers, or even less hackers, which will more than likely result in how well you will be able to make a final decision that there is or isn't a "hacker" in game.

In other words: Past game-play experience is how you are originally able to tell if a player is or is not hacking, if you do not have that past experience than you are unable to suspect other players that are "hacking" because you have either never been able to see hack client they used, or you haven't seen the original hack such as: Force-Field at all.

I don't play EU, but what you said is pretty rude. At least cite evidence if you're trying to call people out. And even then, out of the hundreds of mods, what's the likelyhood you've met any more than a fraction of them?
Oh trust me, you know it's bad when you get kicked for saying 'gg69'.

Of course you do not need to be a great pvper to be moderator, in my opinion it's the games played that count. I feel that experience is definitely needed more than skill when it comes to being a staff member. :)
