Hello all!

I've decided to make this thread to get the forum communities opinion on a topic which has recently bugged me quite a bit. Before the disguise command was reinstated, when I joined games many players would check my statistics and comment on them, mostly negatively. The first comment I received was:

"Lol creeper how did u get mod your stats suck"

I shrugged it off, as Mods are expected to receive criticism, however it did make me think. Then it happened once more, with another player leaving this comment in a pre-game lobby:

"creeper how'd you get mod lol?"

I replied saying I applied on the forums, and they replied this:

"I mean you only have 5 wins thats pretty bad"

I responded politely explaining you don't have to be great at PvP to become a Moderator. This got me thinking, is the in-game communities mindset that Mods require good statistics?

Then the day before /d returned, I was killed by a player in a game, and the said this afterwards:

"rekt mod u should be good haha"

Another one! That inspired me to eventually make a thread on the issue. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not here to complain nor criticise the general community, as I cannot judge an overall opinion from three in-game players, especially here on the forums. However, I am very interested to hear other Moderators experiences, if any, and what the forums community thinks about the situation in general. Do you personally expect Moderators to be good PvPers? I'm very interested to know, so please do comment.

Thank you all for reading, all comments and feedback welcome!

You don't need to be good at PvP, but the recent moderators are, because they do it for the rank, not like they are actually gonna do their jobs.

Well you have to be good at pvp to become a moderator, its about moderating a community correctly.

Being a Mod is to moderate games and mostly record or report hackers but you don't always have to be good at pvp for being a moderator.

It's the case on a lot of PvP servers that a majority of the staff are decent at PvP. I think what most people are getting at when they say things like you said though is that they think you started playing just to get staff (hence bad stats). I think the community takes well to people who are decent at PvP as it shows dedication to the servers. :p

I think if a mod is good at PvP it Is a benefit to their duties as they can tell in those hard situation what is hacks and what is ping/skill.
By no means is being good at PvP a requirement, but in my eyes a NEW requirement should be time in community before applying (I'll maybe make a thread on this)

The in-game community is filled with d***s. They are randies, and they don't really think the moderators have any responsibilities, they just think that a mod needs to have good stats...

People can judge my stats all they want, but the majority of the time I receive compliments xD. The only problem is that if in not disguised, and people call out 'check Attorah's stats' I'll get targeted ;-; they're not even that good.
But if I'm honest, I spend more time talking to players in the hub and spectating games than I do play now :3

Some mods can be good at PvP, but normally I think this isn't a really factor about how good and resortable a moderator is, this factor works and happens sometimes.
