Ok, so Col_StaR just announced that they are considering to reset the stats, in order to update the leaderboards with new stats, and things like daily leaderboards. I am 100% in favor of that, and it is totally needed. He pointed out a lot of the negatives, like people have spent weeks (yes weeks) of their lives trying to get to the top of the leaderboards. However, he failed to point out that MCG has been selling stat resets to people for a few months now. That would be a pretty lame move to give a free reset to everyone after they just purchased one a month ago.

If that is not enough, it is not we have been given a good explanation as to why they can't just add these changes to the current leaderboards. I cannot comprehend why it is so difficult to sort the data based on when it happened to create daily, weekly, and monthly leaderboards. As for the other stuff, I don't really care about if there are more stats added. Devs, please clear this up. I am sure there is probably a reason, but I can't seem to find one.

Until they give us more info, vote NO on stat reset. MCG needs the new features, but it must be done without a stat reset. There is a petter way.

So you are in favour of the stat reset but you want everyone to vote no? I don't quite understand.

There's enough awareness about this. Last I checked, there was a front-page post on stat resets.
READ THE THREAD. IT'S RUDE TO BE RUDE TO SOMEONE WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN LISTEN TO WHAT THEY SAID. Maybe if you read the post you would know that I made this thread to raise awareness for people who purchased a stat reset and may be ripped off by this. If you don't understand one of my points or disagree, then you can kindly explain your thinking.

I said that I don't think the stats should be reset, because all the people who bought a stat reset would be ripped off. However, wish there was still away for the features to be implemented because I want them. Also, I don't understand why they need to reset the stats to make these changes. I kinda understand for the adding new stats, but I don't see why they need to be reseted for monthly leaderboards and what not.

You're acting very obnoxious, please stop.
You are someone who obviously does not have any background in development. Our devs here at mc gamer have done all of this for YOUR enjoyment. Don't go back screaming no there must be another way. There obviously is no other way, do you not think the administrative team would've thought of about it?
The developers know what they are doing. They have had many years of experience and in order to advance YOUR user experience they are doing what is needed to be done.

Okay, first of all, let's not start any flame on the thread okay? Good.

Secondly, the leaderboards reset is still a suggestion. Until they have weighed out the pro's and cons and have come to a final decision, they are not going to implement these new leaderboards and therefore you cannot prohibit people from buying a stats reset at this point in time. I understand that you made this thread to make people aware of the situation, but you cannot force them not to buy stat resets anymore since the new leaderboards are not physically here yet, on condition that the majority votes yes and taking both the in game and the forums poll into account. So please do not make a verdict yet that offering the option to buy a stats reset would have been a "lame move" of MCGamer. Especially when weren't even thinking about new leaderboards yet when adding the stats reset to the shop. If they implement the new leaderboards, I am sure that they will have a solution regarding the stats reset by then. That is the reason why Col_StaR made the thread, to gather multiple opinions of the community on this topic. Since this would indeed be a problem if they were to implement the leaderboards, I recommend you to make people aware of it on the actual thread (found here), which has been done by many others as well already, instead of creating another one here.

Thirdly, regarding your statement against why the developers just can't add it to the current leaderboards; this thread has been created today. Until a hours ago, I wasn't even aware of this possible new change myself. So please be patient for now. Since the developers are part of the administration team, they will most definitely be informed about this when they are reviewing the opinions and the suggestions to improve the system. Maybe it is possible, maybe not. We will just have to be patient until we get a response.

To this I say NO myself. Let people decide for themselves whether they like the idea or not. What would be the point in a poll if everyone were to vote for the same certain option just because they were told to do so because of a problem in the system that could possibly be easily resolved after looking into it? And as mentioned before, there has not been made a decision yet so you cannot force people not to buy a stats reset if they wish to do so.

So I recommend people to share their opinions about the new leaderboards on the Original Thread, so that you can make the administration aware, but if you wish to have a mature discussion about this specific problem and to help find a possible solution, you can do so here. And if you happen to find a solution, make sure to share it on the original thread as well. :)

Obviously this global stat reset was going to cause some issues, concerns, and the like which is luckily why Col_StaR made a poll about it and asked for a community vote on the idea. This is not a set in stone idea yet, and I'm sure that the decision will not be based on the poll. We are simply introducing the idea out there to everybody and gathering opinons, but if there is a very high level of consent, this is going to be put on it's way very quick. I do understand your point and things like this will be taken into consideration c:

I wouldn't want a stat reset because of how difficult it was to gain these stats that I have. But I'm only thinking about what I want, I'm not sure how other people feel.

Well, this debate is going to be very predictable. Most people on the forums are going to vote "no", because they are often donors with good statistics and a lot of wins that they don't want to lose. They will argue that having their statistics is some sort of right, when it's actually just a silly number. They are going to argue that the stat resets will look very bad if we do this. These will be mainly the same people who despised Raffle Voting from the start, a.k.a. people who are scared of change. This party will be very outspoken, and many will use alternate accounts to skew the thread vote.

Then there will be a few moderates, who want monthly leaderboards, etc... This is probably the most reasonable way to view things.

Then the people voting "yes" will be the more open-minded people, who don't jump on the bandwagon with all the popular people every time something radical is suggested. The "yes" voters will lose the thread poll but win the in game poll, while having significant but not complete say in the final verdict.

The final verdict will be some kind of a compromise, which will be implemented in a long time.

I don't see why this thread had to be made; it didn't bring up any new points. One of the administrators clearly acknowledged in one of the first few pages of the actual thread that stat resets could be an issue, but that is not the smoking gun on the issue. The purpose of this thread was probably to try to skew the vote towards the "no" side, which seems to have worked. Oh well... Your opinion is still valid.

Yup, that's exactly what's going to happen in the forum poll. The in-game poll is around 80% yes though =D

It goes the same with every form of change. People will move on eventually and maybe it will turn out for the better! I personally wouldn't mind seeing it, but I don't really want to have to re-gain all my wins. I know I'm never going to try for a top page spot, I just want to continue adding on to my win total, not have it saved on an archive.

I won't be devastated if this happens but I'm not sure I'll be pleased. If an update is to be pushed out it should be that of a moderate viewpoint so that we may encourage a compromise of sorts that makes the most people happy (I. E. Monthly, weekly leaderboards.). If those features can't be added without the leaderboard reset however I'll be disappointed.

Why can't people read the thread... I am trying to make the point about people who bought stat resets getting ripped off...
