First off I am not only talking about only the mcgamer community. I am in the mcgamer community, sonic community, mario community,no limits community,ROBLOX community, and the RCT3 community. This will apply to most of these communities.

So I mainly want to ask.Does anyone remember those days when the community was younger. When you could just go on a forum, game,or youtube and see people acting like they have no regrets inside of them?Do you all remember when communities wouldn't complain about games changing the formulae or adding new features?Does anyone remember when you could sit back and play a game without some guy saying "GG12 rekt l2p noob?"Anyone remember when you people wouldn't battle for the highest rank or the best stats or the best times?Anyone remember when people would just play the game without complaining about glitches, bugs, and flaws in gameplay, sound, creativity, and graphics? I know there are at least some people that remember those days and I hope you see this ;3.

I remember in v1 when if you had donor, it meant you were top 1000 with 1/3 or 1/4 ratio. Now you see platinum and quantum donors with 123/2500 .-. Generally, the older days where better. No kids yelling gg rekt, no hackers...

I do think there is some truth to what people say when they say the community used to be more carefree, with less hackers and trash talkers. However, humans generally have a habit of over-glorifying the past.

It's like people who say that the twenty first century has some of the worst music throughout history, when in fact there has always been bad music, even in the classical era. The only music that gets remembered is the good music. We only the see the bad things of the present because we deal with them on a day-to-day basis.

This probably also explains why people say that only a small portion of the games they lose are due to losing a fair fight. People typically say that they only lose because of hackers, teams, severe lag, and the fist glitch. (Speaking of which, nobody speaks about the first glitch anymore, because it is a rotten part of our past.) I remember seeing a thread roughly a year ago about what things cause the majority of our losses. Most players stated that losing a fight with a player who was neither teaming nor hacking accounted for less than 20% of all losses. In reality, when we go and spectate games of skilled players, we find that at least half of their losses are due to losing fair fights. (With the exception of EU, perhaps.) According to Fireworkmaster's statistic thread, teams only win 25% of all games in the US.

People tend to remember deaths to teams and hackers because they are dramatic things that stick out in our minds as things we can't control. Humans are willing to take risks hundreds of times greater when we have some control over the risk. A team of five with full iron chasing you for five minutes? Very dramatic and memorable. A hacker who can run twice as fast as you? Very memorable again. People just freak out about these things because they cannot be controlled. In reality, a player with a 1/3 ratio chasing you should be more likely to kill you than a hacker, yet people say that hackers are more often a cause of death. (And in the US, a player with a 1/3 ratio is far more common than a hacker.)

Ok, rant over.

Remember whenyou could get under someone in the water and they wouldn't be able to hit you, while you could hit the heck out of them? ;)
Remember when someone was in the water, and one guy would be boosting the other guy away with a fishing rod, and the spectators would be screaming "THE FISHING ROD DOESN'T DO DAMAGE!!!"?
