4 scams in half a year
6 months in half a year
6 + 4 is 10
Half a year is 6, half of 10 is 5
This is the 5th line so 10 + 5 is 15
15 is divisible by 3
Half Life 3 confirmed...
3 sides on a triangle
Triangle for illuminati
Illuminati is behind this

I thought wayyyy too hard about this.
Half Life 3 confirmed made me laugh so hard. Thank you for that haha

That sucks, not only for people that got ripped off, but for anyone interested in making a legitimate convention. It's going to be hard to get any support after this.

I don't even consider conventions if they haven't had 1 or 2 of them in the past (that were obviously successful). Just because a large number of YouTubers are going does not mean that the convention is legitimate; YouTubers are people too and can just as easily be screwed over.

It's almost fact that conventions like MineCon, VidCon and RTX are going to be awesome every single year (alongside many others that happen every year). This is mostly due to the fact that all of these conventions have had successful conventions in the past. If these conventions prove that they're legitimate, it opens doors to new sponsors and new opportunities for them. In short, waiting one year to go to a convention isn't going to kill you - it's likely that if the convention was successful that the same YouTubers will attend next year and the convention will have more things to do than the previous year.

Be smart with your money and your decisions. Ultimately, holding off for one extra year sounds a whole lot better than making a decision that you'll regret.

Personally, I always think it's pretty shady when two people who are hardly involved with minecraft, and the minecraft community try to set up big events. It then becomes clear that the purpose is either for money, or something else, because that person likely couldn't care less about the community.

The fact that tickets are non-refundable, and the event somehow cancels ("postpones") 5 days before the event is so fishy, you'd think you walked into a fish market.

Even if this wasn't a scam, they promised a lot. Lots of events that sounded like a lot of fun, but when you think about it, would've taken a lot of time and money to organize.

They certainly made plenty of money- it's estimated to be 1.1 million, but if these people didn't have any experience with conventions, they'd have a pretty difficult time organizing all of this.

You can't just wake up one morning and decide you're going to make your own convention.

I have a feeling that even if this convention does take place, it'll end up like meeting of the mines- nothing at all like what was promised, and likely hosted in a tiny tent.
