Resource Pack

Hey guys,
I just wanted to make this thread to see if anyone can help me out with this.
As you might know, from 1.7+, you can now change sounds in resource packs.
What I wanted to do is change some sounds in my own resource pack.
If anyone wants to know, I wanted to change the 'ding' sound when you hit someone with a bow, to a hitmarker sound (if you don't know what that is, watch snipars or xSweg).
I found the sound (called succesful_hit, which is in .minecraft/assets/legacy/sounds/random).
The sound is saved in a 'Ogg Vorbis' file.
So what I did was I got the hitmarker sound in Sony Vegas, and rendered it into Ogg Vorbis.
What I then did was create a folder in my resource pack called sounds (assets/minecraft/sounds), and then create another folder called random (assets/minecraft/sounds/random). This to exactly copy the original assets folder in .minecraft. I put the in Ogg Vorbis rendered succesful_hit file in it, but when hitting someone with a bow, nothing happens. It's just the same default minecraft sound.

My question: How do you fix this? Do I have to copy the whole sounds folder into my resource pack or something? Or have I done something else wrong?

FYI: I have also posted this on other forums and I am waiting for a reaction, so if you don't have an answer, don't feel ashamed or whatever.

I think this is wrong, but try it. I checked "sounds" and there are 4 folders bowhit1 bowhit2 etc... Get that ogg, copy and paste, rename 4 of them. If it works, no problem . If it doesn't work, then sorry

I say the same thing as xShadowX I did the same thing it took a few try's but now in my pack the bow hit is just a funny voice saying rekt -Coolman20124 Hoped this helpped

I know this I usually put the "rekt" soundpack on resource packs including mine, Im pretty sure his name is Microsoft Nils anyway getting off topic you have to go in like mine craft and like idk on the same folder of textures and mcpatcher and all of that put the sound pack in there.

Ur naww I have mac but u can get the Microsoft Nills file , now ok You have a texturepack, you open it and go to assets, in the microsoft Nills file you a get sounds, you put sounds in the assets file, if u want the only rekt file keep the succesfull hit file but keep both of em if there are both of em, I cant send on skype because I have a mac and cant send files, Ill be glad to add you on skype doe, all tho I dont use it that much.
