Might as well make a section for them...
"Having a bad day? Thinking of committing suicide? Then post a thread here and you're sure to receive replies of people telling you just how awesome you are, just as they would to any other person in the entire universe."

if they want to seek help from their internet friends, they should be allowed
Why can't they just PM or skype those people then? If they're truly "friends" something tells me they're capable of contacting each other. When they post threads they're kind of making it everyone's business. The thread is still there, I can still read the title, I still know exactly what they're going to be talking about on the thread. I'm not going to pretend that I don't see it.
If people truly are allowed to post whatever they want then why are so many threads locked, and why do people request threads to be locked? Yes, they can post what they want: but that doesn't mean I have to approve of it.

I'm trying to figure out why you're so upset about it. You don't have to click on it. It's like complaining about a certain dish being a on a menu when you go to a restaurant. You don't have to order it!!!!!

Although I agree with you; no one's making you click on the threads, just ignore it if you have that much of a problem with it.
Read above post.
It still doesn't change the fact that the threads exist, the people are still slapping people who actually have "depression" in the face, and people are still just giving them needless attention (Which is exactly what they want). They're taking advantage of something as serious as suicide and depression just to get people to feel sorry for them. I'll still see the threads so I'll still know it's happening: me laying down and pretending the threads don't exist isn't really doing much for me.

There's a difference between a meal at a restaurant and little kids going online and saying they want to commit suicide just to see what people will say.

We have the right to post threads regarding depression on these forums, and nobody should take that away from us.

I posted my thread because hiding the secrets were keeping me down. All of my friends on here in truth knew nothing about me and hiding my past was extremely difficult because it made me feel worse and I can guarantee it's the reasoning for lots of others who have posted depression threads. If you had any clue what it was like you'd know why we do it. Trust me, whether you like it or not, it's a good thing for people to post their stories.

Let me be the first to state it here - if you're having suicidal thoughts, please call your local suicide hotline number. I might sound like a broken record saying this, but suicide is a serious thought to have, and it's not the solution to any problems you might be having. In the US, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline phone number is 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255). If you're not in the US, see this site for phone numbers in your country: http://www.suicide.org/international-suicide-hotlines.html

The thing is, this may be the only way they can vent. So while you are complaining about them, these people are really brave to tell the community about this, and you sound extremely insensitive responding in this way. Let them make their threads.

"I'm having Suicidal Thoughts" by different users nearly every day, and I honestly wish it would stop.
Seriously? Just don't read the threads then.
The kids/teens on this forum who are saying they are "Depressed" because of things (That typically every single kid or teen in the world has gone through) is honestly like a slap in the face to people who are actually depressed. Depression is not something you can self-diagnose: but I can guarantee you nearly every single person on these forums who said they were depressed did just that.
How do you know they aren't actually depressed? You have no idea what they might be going through, so you can't just say that they aren't honestly depressed.
All in all, it's a serious topic that many people seem to abuse just to get "positive messages" from others, which is just downright, well, pathetic. It's pathetic that people are using things like depression and suicide to get that kind of feedback, half the time I wonder if they even know what they're doing.
Maybe that's just what they need. Sometimes a few encouraging words can go a long way, so the messages from the thread would help them out.
If it's truly bad enough consult a psychiatrist, but you don't need to make a thread about it on a forum dedicated to a video game
Oftentimes, people don't want to rely on a random "shrink" to help them, they want help from a community and a group of people that they are close to.

Sorry, but I really dislike this thread. Instead of calling people out on this, you could be encouraging and try and help them.

They won't rely on a trained professional who's been in the business for longer than they've been alive but they'll rely on 11 year olds they met online? Somethings not right here.
