My collection of stuffed animals from my toddler ages are still in my room. Watching...
DON'T TRUST THEM, THEY'RE PURE EVIL! ONLY TRUST THE ONE YOU GOT WHEN YOU WERE BORN! If you still have that one, otherwise I would get the hell out of there...

PS: Sorry for the caps, got excited.

From what I have researched try putting your bed as far as possible from your door while making sure you face the door. What this does it lets you think that you will have more time to react to something coming in your room during the night, and because you have more time you feel more relaxed.

This is what I do, before you go downstairs (the food is located there for me), put your hands in front of your eyes (so its dark and your eyes will get used to the dark). Leave your hands there for about 30 seconds, then go downstairs.. you'll see a lot better in dark.

That gave me an idea. How about covering your eyes and pretending it's daytime when you go. That way it's not getting any darker but maybe the fear will disappear.

Or just put on a light...

I got the same problem but instead of ghosts/zombies I feel like there is going to be a murderer around the corner.

I watch Criminal Minds sometimes... :(
