Corruption in staff?

I personally do believe the Administration and Senior Staff team are corrupt, for example I know that LadyOfLove was given trial senior mod without the knowledge of 2 or 3 admins, when all admins are supposed to have a say in the matter.

That's not true at all. Every single senior staff member was aware of Shelby's promotion, since it was done at such an irregular time (in the middle of another batch). There was also only 3 admins at that time... Leo is the only one that misses meetings, due to her inconvenient timezone, and she was perfectly aware of it.

Secondly, every senior staff member has a say in the promotions. The way that trial senior mod nomination works is that a few names are suggested, if there's no major objections than they're voted on and narrowed down. At the next meeting (which is two weeks later, plenty of time to review them and for other senior staff members to catch up) they're discussed again, the decision is finalized, they get promoted.

So yeah, please don't make claims that are pretty obviously false.

Honestly, I've never noticed any corruption. My guess is much of the "corruption" is simply negligence. I did have an unfair ban WAY back in v1 (when I didn't know how to appeal) but people make mistakes, and I don't see that as corrupt.

So basically, to me, corrupt is too strong a word. I certainly believe there are issues, inefficiencies, mistakes, even the occasional abusive mod. However, these things will always happen, and I don't think they're pervasive enough to warrant the term corruption.

But then again, I've never been in staff, and I only interact with staff rarely, so I'm not that qualified to talk.

As far as I was aware it wasn't false; I was told by ex staff members who were apparently told by Le0 herself, so if a reputable staff member tells me something I'm likely to believe it.

I'd like to consider myself a reputable staff member, and I was actually there for each and every meeting. It's false, you should really take rumors with a pinch of salt.

From an experienced AU players point of view, I personally take a neutral side on this topic. Although I see corruption with the Staff, the worse corruption lies in the rest of the community, whether it be popular people or regular players that no one has heard about. One good example of this is when players going out of their way to try and get someone that they don't like banned by using false evidence or evidence that is way out of context, provoking them to abuse/swear or the most common of all, using a staff member that is their friend to be biased against the person they don't like. Now if you look at these three situations, they are ALL created by the player, not the staff, it is only the staffs job to deal with the issue to the best of their ability. Now how can we fully blame the staff for the biased decisions that are made? If the player unfairly punished hadn't of been reported in the first place then nothing would have happened at all. I think we all need to stop taking out our anger on the staff of MCGamer and start focusing more on being a better community as a whole. I know for a fact that the staff spend a lot of their time trying to do the best job they humanly can while we just sit here whining and complaining about what they do wrong.

This may make hardly any sense at all but oh well, just my opinion on the topic.

Being an EU player, I hadn't noticed anything as I said in my previous post, and someone has told me what has happened in AU with the staff, and if what he said is true, then yes AU is corrupt.

Staff corruption, it's a term passed around a lot. I think in time, this brand people give to others as being 'corrupt' becomes totally different, and so the 'corrupt staff' term that we all imagine now is much more different than what it used to be.

I'm called corrupt on OresomeCraft (which is a PvP server that's somewhat controversial, or was controversial with the AU MCGamer community for our handling of MCGamer players) because I believe in getting straight down to business and punishing players off the bat rather than throwing warnings at players which quite frankly don't work in my experience- some people pay no mind towards the warnings.

What I'm getting at here is that a staff can be called corrupt for forceful and 'unforgiving' handling of players- me as an example.
The general meaning of corrupt and how it should be used when we say a staff is corrupt, is staff members:
- Abusing their powers
- Making bans/kicks with no real justifiable reasoning behind them

As a player on MCGamer's AU servers, I see none of this 'corruption' within the staff. I cannot speak for the US/EU/CA servers as I don't play on those regional servers, but I'm pretty sure a developed server such as MCGamer would be quick to deal with abusers and corrupt members of the staff ranks.

They're probably those suck ups trying to get mod. Or maybe... THE STAFF OR FORCING THEM TO DO IT.
