Click speed and mouse

So I know it's important to have a good clicking rate in PvP. Personally I average around 5.7-6 clicks per second, is that decent? If that is a pity full rate, what would you suggest I should do to improve that rate and how long would it take for me to achieve a great clicking speed. Also I have a pretty old standard wireless mouse and mouse pad, would that be holding my clicking rate back?

It takes skill, about a month or so xD Worrying about clicking speed is useless

We'll I've noticed a steep increase in my the number of fights I won since my click speed had increased. Why do you think click speed doesn't matter?

It matters more about the strafing skill and sword skill

I can't deny that my strafing ability had increased as well and that it is a more core factor in PvP, but I feel that I lack in how many hits I can get on a player even though my accuracy is above average.

Well I can click about 10 per sec but it hurts my fingers xD so I go a bit slower it doesn't matter much minecraft can't render your hits any faster

u see...there is something in minecraft called TICKS. the person doesn't take damage at the same speed you are clicking. so clicking ultra fast doesn't give u ultra fast killing. u will still only get approximately 3-4 hits a second. (SURE SURE, CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. JUST BRING SOME PROOF OK?!)

I know about that tick thing, but what I'm trying to do is to increase the chances of me hitting someone by landing more hits the COULD count as a hit dealing damage
