Today I created a thread titled, "Chad, please fire this admin." It was basically a letter to Chad asking him to fire the admin Google Administrator for spamming the forums with ads. The 100% intention of this thread was to be humorous.
Humor is something that makes people happy, it brightens their day when they are sad. You know people are enjoying it when it hits 12 likes in its first 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the staff decided to delete it as trolling is against the rules. Which is 100% true. For that reason I support their decision to delete the thread as it did break MCG rules.
However, the rule clearly states that trolling is not allowed as it may cause "flame wars." Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't see any flame wars being sent at the Google Administrator, as he is not a person so he can't fight back. Therefore it is not a war, as you can't fight a one person war.
This is why I am kindly requesting a rule change to allow some kinds of trolling. This is the basic outline I would suggest for the rule change:
"Trolling is allowed if it is used in a humorous way, and is not directed at an individual or group, controversial topic, race or ethnicity, or anything else that does not follow other MCG rules."
After all, rolling is a popular way to be funny, s0 why should we ban humor?
Another issue I had is that I was not contacted by an staff member as to why my thread was deleted, I think it should be MCGamer policy to tell users why they broke a rule so they don't do it again in the future. It wasn't until I put a post on my profile asking why that I got answers. To be fair, I did post the profile post rather quickly, so if they were about to contact me, then you can ignore this post. But, I don't believe they were going to. It has been brought to my attention that I was about to be contacted, you can ignore this point.
My last and final issue is for the rules, in particular this one to be followed more consistently. On April Fools day there were dozens of trolling threads, and they weren't taken down. If they break the rules, they should be locked or deleted. If April Fools day is an exception, then please state so in the rules. Also I wrote this thread which was trolling http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/bow-aimbot.102177/#post-1195602 and it never got deleted or locked. If I had been warned the first time, then this would have not happened the second time.
Just thought I would point this stuff out, as I think it is for the best of the community. Sorry for breaking the rules.
