What's happened to the Malaysia Airlines flight?

Here's what we know:
The plane did not crash. At least, not violently. Had the aircraft crashed violently/uncontrollably then everything inside would have been decimated. Family members of those on board have managed to get through to passengers cell phones, but have not gotten an answer. Why would they not answer their phones? Only two explanations are plausible;
They are dead,
They are being held at gun point/bound and unable to answer their phones.
It is unlikely that cellphones survived, yet the passengers didn't. This strongly reminds me of the Greek "ghost flight", an aircraft which was bound for Greece but never made it. The cabin was not being filled with oxygen, due to a maintenance crew member not returning the system back to automatic. The oxygen masks on commercial planes only give approximately 12 minutes of oxygen. Everybody died of asphyxiation, and the plane went into an automatic holding pattern above the airport, before running out of fuel and crashing. However, if this were the case with the missing airliner, someone would have spotted it by now. Also, why would people have their cellphones on? You all know how it is when you board an aircraft. You are told to switch all electronics off as they can interfere with the navigation. So why would they have cellphones turned on, but not answer? Maybe a desperate attempt for authorities to track them, without being able to answer the phones?
4 passports had been stolen and the thieves boarded the aircraft. 2 of those were people from Iran seeking asylum in Germany....or so they say. All 4 thieves who stole the passports, originating from 2 different countries, booked seats on the plane at the same time, and the seats were booked consecutively (sitting next to each other).
Another commercial airliner made brief contact with the missing aircraft 12 minutes after it went off radar, and by that time the missing plane was deep into Vietnamese airspace, off course. Many people are talking about the black box and how it can be tracked. All black boxes are designed to only start emitting a signal to be tracked if it comes in contact with water. No such signal has been found yet, despite multi-national search and rescue efforts. Safe to assume the missing aircraft is not buried in the ocean somewhere.
Vietnam is scattered with abandoned WW2 airports, a number of those capable of hosting the large aircraft, as well as hiding it.
So, the plane is most likely intact (cell phones connecting yet no answer), black box is not emitting a signal so it must be on land, suspicious activity with the stolen passports. I for one am leaning towards the fact that the plane is likely sitting in an abandoned Vietnamese airstrip out of view to be used as some kind of weapon or ransom.
This basically sums everything up. But do you guys want to know the scariest thing? My parents were scheduled to be on this flight... Until their meeting got cancelled. Talk about close calls. My heart goes out to those who are missing family members! <3

Honestly I'm leaning towards pilot suicide but there's no way to really tell what's going on. One thing I'm sure of though, is that the government is telling us everything. They're hiding something...
Had the pilot committed suicide, surely the co-pilot would take over....?
And you're probably right, in the same way that the staff here can't tell you guys everything :p I don't think there's some big conspiracy going on that you're not being told, more some info that you're not allowed to know.
And it didn't crash, refer back to my long post as to why :p

But what if the pilot had killed the copilot, and most of the other members on board before he killed himself?

Does it really matter? Probably just crashed.
I mean, I think 239 people dying matters to humanity. Oh, and I find it very peculiar how an enormous aircraft goes 'missing'. Of course it matters. It's hard for it not to matter as it is stapled on every news channel and circulating around the web. Sorry for the blunt reply but it's true, of course it matters...

Indeed it does. That is what makes me the most curious. The fact that it just "disappears" into thin air makes me really suspicious. I agree with what krackan said about it hiding out somewhere. But why are the phones still on? Are they in someplace where they have reception? If they are in Vietnam, chances are if any of them had escaped, they wouldn't have had reception. They would probably be in the middles of some jungle. This proves that they are in a somewhat civilized area, most likely some sort of hanger/airport. The hostages are most likely all alive, except for the pilot and most of the members. I think the people hijacked the plane in mid air, killed the captain and crew, and took the plane somewhere in Asia. I say there will be some sort of a ransom involved, and it will end up being either with money or with some other sort of payment. Well, just my opinion!

Ok, so lets look at the numbers, there are 7 billion people alive. So 3.41428571e-6% of the human population was killed. According to UNICEF (http://www.unicef.org/media/media_27680.html) 5500 children die in eastern and southern africa every day. Yes, the link may be a little old but I don't think the number is decreasing. And, as you said sorry to be blunt but I don't see these africans making the news, your point is rather irrelevant.

But lets put in perspective, you have probably haven't met a single one of the people on the plane, I bet they had absolutely no merit to you until you heard about this plane.

Why are you being so emotionless? It's hard for me, as a strongly opinionated person, to dismiss such a widely talked about topic. Sorry to say but it's the norm for children to die in Africa. What isn't normal is for a commercial airline to disappear. We know why children are dying in in Africa it's due to poverty and poor water supplies. But do we know why this airliner has vanished - no. The foundations of this thread are to discuss what possibilities there could be for a plane such a size to disappear. Also, your calculations are wrong, I believe.

The pilot wouldn't have been killed, I guarantee you, at least until they reached the ground. It's highly unlikely that in the event that the plane was hijacked, that the hijackers probably aren't trained to fly a commercial airliner. It is likely the pilot is still alive.

Pretty sure the calculations are correct, its a percentage. I just ran it again but maybe you're right.
I'm not being emotionless, I'm just preventing something that I have absolutely no control influence my life. You will live a lot happier life if you focus on the aspects of your life that you can change instead of worrying about events that are behind your control. I really hate the media, they blow stories like this way out of portion and ignore much larger issues just because that is considered to be normal.

As for the actual thread, I think that plane just crashed as I said before.
