Wood sword or Stone axe???

Wood swords for block hitting.

Block hitting is not "nooby". It is a tactic like any other tactic there is. For example, I could say that the "Fishing rod technique" is nooby but really, it is not. It can be hard to and just because others can't do it, does not mean that it is nooby. Good day. For me, Wood sword.

Wood sword : More crit % and Block hitting

Stone Axe : More durability and More intimidating

They both do same raw damage so whatever you prefer.

Gold. jk when I;m using this weapon, I probably have both a wood sword and stone axe. WHat I use is both, seeing as when I'm using it, I don't have as much gear as I would later in the game. So I have the stone axe in slot 1 and wood sword in slot 5. when I need to block hit, or block arrows, I switch to the sword. Otherwise, I simply use the axe.
