I had full iron armor and a diamond sword and when we went to deathmatch i spawned in lava.
WHY!!?? This would have been my first win in over 2 weeks and on top of that the guy who won had a leather hat and leather pants. And wood sword.

With the new arena, it's been pretty unpredictable where you spawn, about 1-7 blocks away from the lava (just out of experience), so no one can really help you there. If they moved the spawns just a tad inward, they would be too close. I say, "It's just bad luck. Move on, and get there again."

Me and my team always wins the battle at the arena, but when we commit suicide in the lava to avoid fights between each other we loose points to people we had already killed! that is not fair seeing as they are already dead and out of the match!

That would be because of "Combat logging" it's set up so if you are hit by a player you have 5 minutes before the points won't be taken away. So if you get hit you can't just log out and not lose points.

Oh, In that case, why not reduce that time limit to something more manageable? Say, 2 mins perhaps? In that case you wouldn't have to wait half a game to leave, but you still can't combat log. 5 mins is a ridiculous amount of time. That would be just about the time an entire arena fight could ever take, with leaves you with no option but to loose points?
