Sheesh, I'm a mod, and if someone deserves it, I'll say it. Especially if they're acting all high and mighty at PVP and I beat them, or I beat a team. :p

Depends how you use it. If you use it like this it's ok:
"Hey there, little nub :p" (jokingly)

But if you say it like this it really isn't:
"HAHAHAHAHAA what a freaking NUB! GG 10 hearts NUB get stemrolled scrub lel NUB!!!"
^^

I've actually seen a decrease in people who say things like "Nub" and "Noob" recently :p My friends and I constantly call each other nubs and noobs, if it became bannable then we'd all be banned and what would be the point? :p I consider it just to be a joke, a funny word. It's gotten to the point where I've given the word "Noob" a reputation among my friends, and everyone has noob names now like I'm HalfNoob and people just have noob inserted into their names :p It's fun :) Noob isn't used as a bad word by me, nor have I seen it used much at all recently.
I agree. Nowadays I never see people calling each other noobs, but instead "scrubs."

Hello!
This will just be short and sweet post about my thoughts :D

So is it just me or has the trend of calling a particular person a "nub" starting to catch on? To be honest it is starting to drive me insane! I know its not the most offensive word in the world but I'm quite sure that "nub" is referring to "noob" or "nob" and it can be very offensive to good players (tell me if I'm wrong). The trend is certainly becoming more and more popular in the au servers and I believe it should be a banable offense. Now the one thing a most hate about MCSG is being called a nub, after I am killed.

Just letting the MCSG community know my feelings on the whole situation, so please in the comments right about your experiences and if its happening around the world as-well, and if you think it should be a banable offense too!
Thank you
If it offends you I guess you can report them for harassment if they keep on repeating it. But if they just say it once then there is no reason for it to be bannable.

The worst is when you die to a full iron two team and they barely kill you, and then say 'gg nub.'

Well i didn't take my time to read everyone's comments to i may be saying what someone else did but what i think is yes it can be offensive. But you shouldn't take it that way, people are just feeling silly or whatever and like calling people nubs. Like for example I always call my friends nubs or noobs ( ZebraNation ) as a joke just to mess with them. I don't think anyone means it in harm or in an offensive way. Just take it as a joke :).

It honestly depends on the context of the word used. As mentioned before, if it's a light message ten it wouldn't be bannable on its own. But if used in an insulting or abusive way, then yes. QA?

If it offends you, tell them to stop. If they do not stop, then it is considered harassment.

2. Do not disrespect or harass other members: We want people in our community to feel safe and respected.

Example:
  1. [User], you suck at minecraft.
  2. [User] is a hacking noob.

  • If someone is telling you to stop harassing them or is making it obvious that they are feeling abused, do not continue what you are saying or doing.
  • Harassment is taken very seriously. If you are caught harassing others, you may risk being permanently removed from our community.
  • Spreading rumors about others is not allowed.
  • Stalking a player around into servers and constantly targeting them is considered harassment

If someone keeps on harassing you with a word, you're sure to ban them.
