The guys who get VIP is the map creator and 4 other guys chosen by the creator. Administrators have to also agree if they are legible for VIP.

VIP is given to builders of a map that is accepted onto our system. The rank is given to the head builder and four other people of the head builder's choice. As such, it is up to the head builder's discretion who is most deserving of the rank. However, we also take those by a case-by-case basis, and we will outright deny giving certain individuals VIP if we have reason enough not to trust them with the rank.
If someone is interested in becoming a VIP for map making, there's a good chance Dave and the rest of the map council would have already contacted them, seeing as their map would be accepted onto our servers.

I know this thread was made a while ago but maybe in a few years when MCSG has more ranks you should make another thread about ranks. It sums it up for a lot of people.
