I think some clans prefer to go into trials for member unbiased. Let's say they had someone with 1000 Wins, then someone with 300. You may be more susceptible to making a biased decision about whether or not the player should be accepted. Because of the amount of wins or the W/L ratio.

How you actually play and perform in game. Sure wins and win loss ratios do give you something to base skill off of, but somebody with 300wins could be better then somebody with over 1000wins.
