Purpose of Flint and Steels?

I got a flint and steel from a chest the other day, and when using it found it had no purpose as you cannot set players on fire. Am I missing the point or is this going to be removed?

Can't even see the pic LOL. Flint and steel is an awesome tool. The DoT from a perfectly placed fire can totally turn the tides of the battle.
