Are you all new to Minecraft or something?
This happens all the time.
No big deal, the kids hitting the servers offline will likely be arrested/grounded for staying up past their bedtime soon.
So your saying ALL the servers on Minecraft go down frequently? o_O i've been on MC for a year and this has never happened (I know you've been here longer and may have seen it before, but i haven't).

If this continues for a few days i won't care cause i'm going to Lanzarote for a week xD!

DDoSing the Minecraft session/login servers is extremely common, and happens every few months.

It actually happens every day. Attacks large enough to make a noticeable service impact (even a minute or two) happen once every few days, but attacks large enough to take the session servers offline for 8.5 hours are extremely rare (I'd say it's been at least a few years).

Fortunately, since we have a fallback mechanism in case sessions go down, it doesn't negatively affect us too much, as yesterday's outage indicated. :)

It's just from my personal experience.
Good thing you guys were prepared.
