Mobile website problem

It just seems strange that a PC should load up a mobile version....

I am seriously not trolling or joking. It's really annoying. Sorry guys.

Is there a way to disable the mobile version on my iPad? It is rather annoying to use on the iPad, as regular sites function quite well without the need for a mobile site.
