Here's some factual information. It was never stated that name changes would be available in.1.8 they clearly stated this recently. All it said was that the earliest it'd be possible is 1.8 and that's when they would begin focus on it as a high priority. Hope I cleared things up!

I was looking forward to name changing, and only that. I don't like it when mojang rips of some mods and puts it into minecraft (rabbits).
